Bought one, time to un-lurk

I've wanted a Rolex for a while, a gold/blue Submariner for about the last 10 years to be exact. I've been making noise to the wife about wanting an expensive watch for Christmas and last week at the mall she asked me to show her what I liked.

As we passed the jewelery store, I showed her the watch in the window and we went inside to try it on. Then she found out the price.

After dinner, a few cocktails and discussion, she wanted me to have it. And when she saw the new model with the ceramic bezel and lighter blue color, compared to the old style that I wanted (16618?), the deal was done.

So here I am. As we say on other forums, this thread is worthless without pics.

Congrats on the beautiful watch! The wife sounds like a keeper.

Now for HER gift (coming from the ladies standpoint) If she is into jewelry, I may suggest popping over to David Yurman and checking out their new collection. OR, of course you could go back and have a look at watches for her. If one is good, then two MUST be better. =)

Good news is she doesn't wear a watch despite having a couple of fashion watches and didn't respond to my prodding while looking at the lady's models.

Bad news, she likes diamonds.
