Grand Seiko Baselworld 2018

When will the new models be announced? I am very excited for the new VFA pieces.

I'm refreshing everything at a ludicrous rate waiting on GS and the hopeful Seiko 6159 hi-beat reissue. #KillingMe

Don't think they can top the 62mas re-edition of last year.

I’ve seen two leaks: one VFA and the other a diver, but nothing official. I’m hoping for more models like the VFA I saw. One thing common to both leaks: GS is killing it in the dial department. Both were astounding.

Only 20 made and all in platinum. Damn. I was hoping for a steel VFA. Also I wish they had gone with the 61GS case instead of the 44GS case. Although both are nice the 61GS case looks more interesting to me.

Seiko made probably thousands of VFA watches 50 years ago for multiple years. Why have they stopped? And now they are doing it again but in a platinum case and in very limited quantity with a very high price tag.

Lets wait and see the other releases.

VFA must also mean very hard adjustment because that's a big premium over the high beat special version in gold.

Limited edition, 20 pieces in total – a bit like your GS 8-day.
There’s always the SS non-VFA model (SBGH267, as mentioned above), if you can bring yourself to shop at such a plebeian level…

But I only want the very fine....

Well I can’t bring myself to drop another 50k on a Seiko especially I just spent a chunk of dough on the 5131p.

Well…I’m sure you’ll get a very good price for that 5131, which will let you enjoy a 1 of 20 pieces VFA Grand Seiko after all.
A simple common sense approach – you know it makes sense!

Sigh. So much for adding a VFA to the collection.

The SBGH267 is interesting and within range, I guess. Now, if GS would just come out with a 39mm Snowflake, I would be soooo happy.

SBGH267 is gorgeous! Love the dial and hands, as usual with GS.

Some of them are up on their webpage like the new blue ceramic GMT. I'd link but I don't have enough posts.

Stunning! I would love to add a watch with a blue dial, however it is getting harder and harder with so many great options out there (FPJ CB, the new GO Senator Excellence, obviously the AP RO...)

So disappointed the 6159 is $5,400. Makes my 017 from last year seem like a deal. Guess I'll be passing, just not worth it that that price point for me.

Agree, it's way too expensive, being a high beat shouldn't add 2k. Glad I got the SLA017 before they were gone.

Agreed, a $2k premium is nuts. Here's to our 017's.
