Back in the family

And feeling great so far.

I mentioned to a couple of friends here in the Pam subforum that March would bring news... and here it is (with 3 OEM extra straps to boot)!

I have only tried out the Asso so far (wearing it on that one right now), but the Ponte Vecchio and Black Bison are lined up for test drives soon.

Thanks much, Ruud and DP.

The size of the 233 suits me much better than my last one, it's been a pleasure to wear.

Super sharp 233. I picked one up a few months ago and really love it. The 233 has rekindled my Panerai flame.

My favorite watch. This will be most likely my 1st Pam. Unfortunately not many AD here in GA. The one in Atlanta Mall is a Jewelry chain I will not buy a watch from. I would also prefer to buy new.

After making a difficult decision to sell my 422 a couple of years back, I thought for a long time about which model would bring me back to PAM. So far it feels like this is really the right one for me. Thank your for the kind words!

Thanks, Steve. I had a great time looking at all the OEM straps and choosing "just" these three. I'll try to post my impressions of each and detailed pics and impressions after all have been well worn.

I'm obviously biased, but I think it'd be a great first PAM. I went the trusted seller route, and had an impeccable experience.

I am wearing the Asso Brown on my 512.....it was like that strap was made for that dial......right down to the stitching on the strap matching the numbers and sticks on the dial perfectly! Can't wait to hear what you think of the other straps you have. Keep us posted!
Cheers

Great watch...congrats! I love how Panerai's look so different with different straps. What's the size on it? I'm trying to decide between a 42 and a 44mm version. Any thoughts on that?

Hey, Mike, appreciate it, my friend.

The 233 is 44mm. Panerai sizes should be looked at from a slightly different perspective, in my opinion, because of two main reasons. Firstly, Pams are supposed to look big. It's in the very concept of the watches, the brand's dna. Furthermore, Pams are big for a (historic) reason, especially the 1950 Luminors and correspondent Radiomir cases. Thus, it isn't a matter of being a large watch because its trendy, but a throwback to the line's toolish purpose of the past.

nice 233...nothing better if you want date, dome, and relatively thin due to the manual wind....

there is an old blog by Martin W. with the 233 and 20 different straps!...my favorites for the 233 was the JV tan, JV black, gunny egypt, simona bruno allegrini.... if could justify more pams i would have kept it. I brought on the 368 and 190....and staying with those two for the time
