Tudor GMT Pepsi Thoughts

I really love the new GMT II Pepsi from Rolex, but there was a Pepsi GMT also released from Tudor which is a very beautiful reference as well. I haven't seen much discussion of it on here.

https://www.tudorwatch.com/watches/n.../m79830rb-0001

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/tu...mt-introducing

It's a beautiful watch a new tudor GMT movement, great colors, great 41mm size, oyster style rivet bracelet, oh yeah an amazing price MSRP $3900.

For GMT lovers I think this was a great set of Basel releases.

I completely understand, it's a special watch. Something just really works with it. Are the lugs different they seem to be in some pictures but not others...

Aside from cost, I don't really see the point of Tudor. And, cost is an issue, you might as well go with a Casio.

Have to see it in person first, but I like it more than the new Rolex Pepsi. This is coming from someone who doesn't really like Tudor.

I like the Tudor Pepsi a lot. I'll be adding it for a "Travel Beater", to the SS BLRO I pick up to pair with it

I only realised this had been released earlier today, but I have to say it immediately calls to me.

I have already registered my interest in the Rolex SS Pepsi GMT, but I would like to see these two side by side before I pull the trigger (as and when I get chance). The price is great and it looks like a contender to me.

The only thing I don’t like, and I goes with all the new B.B. is that flipping bracelet with those rivets on it. Not needed and a step in the wrong direction imo

I'll be grabbing one asap. Beautiful, same PR as the new GMT at less than half the cost. If I had to bet I would also say it would appreciate Less in the new Pepsi Rolex GMT.

Smart buy if you can wear a regular BB.

Interesting how Rolex didn't regard this as diminishing to some degree Pepsi GMT demand, unless they see it as addressing the overflow and keeping sales in the family. Sort of as a means of scratching the GMT "itch" without the no doubt longer wait for the Rolex.

Just wish it had crown guards. That being said, I do like it, has a cool vintage feel to it.

Not a big Tudor fan either, but I like this one a lot. Agree with the above on crown guards.

What's MSRP?

I do like it but not if the thickness is over 14mm.

I like everything about it except for the thickness.
Looks to be too thick.
Personally, even with sport models, I think a watch looks way better on people when it hugs the wrist more. ( i.e. don’t want the watch to look
As if there’s a bulb protruding from my wrist)

In an open forum riddled with ridiculous comments I submit this may very well be one of the most ridiculous comments I have read in a while.

I have the Batman, and I like the look of the Tudor Pepsi.

The snowflake hands, the 200M water resistance, 70 hour power reserve, in-house movement at a 1/3 of the price of the Rolex Pepsi on the Jubilee seems very appealing.

Would make a great “beater” imo. Has the vintage looks, but is new so it should be able to take some abuse. I would consider one if I could find it for 15-20% off MSRP.

It is the only modern GMT made by the Rolex organization which I'd consider owning. I like the better night legibility, far better coloring, and size. The new movement is a plus as well. Pricing makes it better yet. The only thing lacking in my mind is a cyclops and that can be easily remedied. I'm looking forward to trying one on providing it doesn't become so popular that it creates the need for wait lists.

Thickness has been confirmed at 14.6mm.

That being said, I put myself on the list for both. I'm not sure which I'll like in person more when I finally see them, but it can't hurt right?

The Tudor definitely is a great value though if you're comfortable with the size. It's big and heavy, but otherwise has a lot of great vintage-inspired cues and a great movement to back it up.

Faux riveted bracelet, and regardless if Rolex is the parent company... it's still a knockoff Rolex. Always has been, and apparently always will be.

Nope... I would choose Omega, IWC and likely even Sinn over Tudor. At least they have unique design cues that are their own.

Can't see that happening even in the US, will be waiting lists as I'm sure Tudor are savvy now to slow release this, so greys will have them well over retail for a while.

Think about the cost advantage relative to street value of PepCJub

I still can’t believe people see Tudor as knock off Rolex watches.

Not saying your opinion is wrong, there is only so much can be done with a wristwatch before it starts looking like someone else’s watch brand.

As an aside I wonder how much of a frenzy there would have been (+/-) if this had been released as a coke instead.

I don’t know if it’s only me, but i hate that fake riveted bracelet. And the crown with that spacer lacks of elegance. An oversized crown would have been better
