Manual wind chronograph goodness - incoming 5170r

A high horology manual wind chronograph has always held dream piece status in the back of my mind.

After debating between brands and models for a long time - which admittedly was a big part of the fun - an unexpected opportunity presented itself when a lnib piece came up for auction recently.

It’s still early to say, but the overall configuration of this 5170r-010 packs so much of what Patek does best in one single piece, it’s got me wearing a silly smile on my face.

Here are some of the first pictures of the new family member, along with some amazing pro photos taken by my brother @DetroitWatchGuy, who was kind enough to take delivery of the piece for me (and do a photo shoot) while I wasn’t able to travel to collect the watch. Thank you again, my friend!!

That's just fantastic. I'm quite much thinking about what one watch I would really like from the 2 last decades. A 5170 is clearly in the top 5 of mine. This version is great, thanks for sharing and enjoy it well (when you get it)!

Thanks a lot, guys. I had a custom nubuck alligator strap made by Jean Rousseau and have been enjoying this one immensely.

That is gorgeous, congrats! It was one of my top picks for a long time but I had a hard time sourcing one. Ended up chasing something else.

I really prefer the breguet nos. on this reference over sticks.

This was a big deciding point for me as well, the breguets make this dial, imo.
