Engraving on GMT-Master from 1970??? Help!!
Could you please confirm if it's possible for a vintage GMT-Master Circa 1970 to have the engraving "REGISTERED DESIGN" instead of "ORIG. ROLEX DESIGN" where the reference number is?

Yes, nearly all Sports Rolex have that...
...REGISTERED DESIGN nomenclature between the lugs up until the 1980s, when it changed to the current ORIG. ROLEX DESIGN verbiage.
Probably to do with the holding of and subsequent expiration of Rolex's patent on the Oyster case. Best, T. |
