Showed my wife pics of a 5513, 1665 and red sub last week and asked her opinion. "why are the hours orange? It looks like a Tudor, it's trying way too hard"

Told her the price and got utter disbelief.

A&B covered.

Your wife and friends have immaculate taste!
Although the blue dial is for sure a very good looking watch the silver one has so much more oomph.

We had half a dozen friends round this weekend and I was asked about cars - I said Iíd rather buy watches than cars and it led on to me showing them these two. None of these people are into watches, nor know anything about watches. Every one of them preferred the silver dial. I explained the enigma in the watch world that blue seems to rule the roost, but no, it was the silver dial.

So whose right and whose wrong eh

P.S. my wife also prefers the silver dial - I may have to trade her in :-)

Iím often torn between wanting an AP blue or silver/white dial one. Iíve been offered a couple of white RO when on vacation in Hong Kong but have always held off pulling the trigger as Iíve really wanted a traditional blue one. That said every time I see a silver dial the way they shimmer in the light is fantastic.

Now that Iíve settled in the UK and am trying to build a relationship with AP UK, I think Iíll take whoever colour Iím offered and be very grateful whatever it is

I rotate my watches regularly so rarely wear any watch more than 3 days. Just taken this watch and my ROO on a two week cruise. Generally wore the ROO in the day by the pool etc and wore this every night for two weeks to dinner, shows and the casino. All I can say wow, this watch just gets better and better :-)

I think the "King" needs to get his servants to give his 15510 a bit of clean

Do you notice a meaningful difference between the 15500 and 15510 or do they wear/feel about the same? I recognize the differences on paper (longer dial markers, slimmer bracelet, absence of AP logo) but was curious how they wear differently holistically.

Wow Stephen, I hadnít noticed this post previously with the weight differenceÖthat is significant. I do prefer a heavier/more substantial bracelet though, but there must be a reason for the change.

Iíve always been a blue dial fan above any other colour, so itís hard to compare. Trying to be as unbiased as I can, I also prefer slightly watches so that wins with the 15500. The lighter proportions of the 15510 and the more tapered bracelet, do however make it the perfect watch to wear. Iíd go so far as saying that Ďifí I had to go down to one watch forever, Iíd have found it in the 15510.

I wouldnít kick either out of bed though and interestingly I get far more compliments on the white/silver dial than any other watch Iíve ever owned. Normally though from non wis people so they donít count
