Sold my Diver Now what

I recently sold a ROO Diver and the AD asked me why its no longer on the profile. I explained that it just wasn't for me. Will this prevent me from getting another watch

Frankly, if the AD has had this flagged to their attention, odds are not in your favor.

That said, no point opining over it.

Did you ask them if it will prevent you from getting another watch?

Which model, how long did you have it, where did you get it, what other APs do you have etc etc. I can come up with scenarios where it doesn't matter and others where that may have been the last AP at MSRP for a while.

If they specifically brought it to your attention I would say might be an issue.

Anyone see that purple brand new code with June 2022 papers sold on “that FB group” for $24.3k?

“Hi Shmoopy, we see you have added a Code to your profile, what’s up with that?”

AP has put in place a great system for identifying people who sell their watches. Unfortunately that system means long term you end up alienating people who aren’t flipping watches new but just got tired and moved on from a piece.

Why didn’t you ask them this question?

I think the system is great and the average SA should understand that sometimes a person doesn't jive with certain pieces. But if you claim your dream watch is a 16202, and it's flipped within a few weeks/months... something is up. Now a ROO you picked up, rocked for 18 months, and got bored of? Shouldn't be an issue.

Likely yes, until bottom falls out and they need the revenue from any and all customers again.

question is how long did you own it and more than a year Id say not too bad within a year or even less than 6 months seems like a problem

My understanding is it’s all bad, just shades of bad.

Only exception is if they are somehow getting a cut of the deal in the unofficial ‘CPO’ channels.

So OP has a grand total of 1 post, drops a controversial topic and ghosts the forum. Troll post?

Depends how long you had it for.

We had a Bucci for two years that we sold and I still got allocated at 16202st - we sold it because my wife was uncomfortable wearing a full frosted gold watch

I tell my boutique ahead of time of my intentions before selling a piece. They know I'm not a flipper and they understand that you just get bored of some pieces. They asked that I give them a heads up before I move something.

This is the way, my SA told me the same thing, hold at a very minimum 12 months for those of us who aren't flippers.

I have the same issue. Still holding so I don’t get banned. Really don’t like the watch.

Depends on your relationship with your AD.
If you have a great and old relationship then maybe it’s ok. If not then it’s possible to have a problem.

yet you didn't speak up when you said you wanted the watch, tried it on and bought it.

I'm afraid you're not likely going to get another AP from a boutique for a while, especially when your SA actively looked up your profile and contacted you about this.

What would you like next from the boutique?

15510 with black face and it doesn’t need to be 50th. I feel that long standing clients should be rewarded those.

I had something similar happen. IMO move onto another brand that you like and won’t police the sales of their watches. I feel this is a problem due to buying things during pandemic where you couldn’t try watches on

You aren't getting another watch anytime soon......check back with the brand in 5 years.

I’ll just buy grey market when prices drop some more. I know they don’t care but it will be the sales person loss and the grey dealers gain

This sounds ridiculous outside the watch world but sounds about right in the watch world.
