With a newer bracelet, dial, insert, and hands, I'm not sure if it's more a NEW Sub than a '68 Sub. And for $11,000, that's a LOT of money. Plus, the day you sell it, you're likely gonna have a heck of time moving it.

Alternative? Does this ebay one look better?

How about this one?

If not can anyone recommend a reputable seller? I want a late 60's early 70's nice patina one.

Try the "Old Watch Shop" in Southport - the owner is one of the top UK-based collectors of vintage Rolex (particularly Submariners).

If you want one as highlighted in bold, then you are looking at an original red dial and the price will be well and truly above £8.6k. Original White dial 1680's are around the £10k mark without papers and a 1680 with white service dial (as per the one you posted) is circa £8k. It is worth doing a lot of research before buying vintage, so you know all the factors that so significantly affect price. The research is all part of there fun of buying vintage. Good luck
