Skeleton Daytona

Interesting, but not for me as I'm just not into modified Rolex. I think they did a good job with the design though. What do you think about this custom Daytona?

Seems well executed but not to my taste.

Why not just get a Zenith Defy 21?

Defy is a big watch at 44mm.

It's bigger than a Daytona but I tried one one and it wears smaller than 44mm.

Also a lot less expensive

While skeletonized dials don’t improve legibility - the one thing I did like was the asymmetrical subdial arrangement.

If it was my choice I would have also made the elapsed minutes subdial as big as the elapsed hours - and also made it with a gold ring to match.

Anyone using a chronograph at the track knows that is the prime function that needs improved legibility.

Last comment, the reimagined tachymeter bezel is still wasted real estate. The designer could have added a 2nd TZ bezel - as Tudor realized in their Heritage Chrono. Almost every driver I know - and myself when I was actively competing - race at tracks in a different TZ than home.

But I ramble on...silly me...it’s become just a bauble for most buyers.

Typically, I don't like skeleton dials, but this Daytona looks especially good to my eyes.

However, I wouldn't buy it, even if I could afford it.

No Thank You. The dial is too busy. Rolex is about function. If one cannot read the dial easily, it defeats the function.

I looked at the diver with blue dial and was considering the purchase. Decided to spend a little more and got the WG sub. Of all the watch “tuners” our there these guys do it best. Great design work and attention to detail. I’m sure it’s a ton of work to rebuild these watches thus the cost.

So did this company contact Rolex and order 50 rose gold daytonas?
How would this work? Surely Rolex aren’t keen on customisers?

Skeletonized, asymmetrical sub dials, digital minute chrono with highlighted chono hours subdial, 2nd tz hand w/ AM/PM subdial sounds like:

That was my first thought, too.

With this much impressive racing provenance, there's a case to be made that this watch, dubbed the "La Barrichello" Gold, could one day be as highly sought-after as the iconic "Paul Newman" Daytona.

what a bunch of scammers
