Guys this pen will transform your writing pleasure to 7th heaven.

These pens with John Mottishaw's skill are basically the best pen/writing experience money can buy.

This is a rare opportunity not to be missed.

Of course I am excluded, and I did pay full retail for my pen, so there you go ....but worth every cent.

Anyway, more details to be announced in the next few days.

As long as you promise

this won't cause me to start collecting pens next. Number 1, I can't afford two expense hobbies and number 2, my wife will leave me if I start spending time on collectingnicepensforums.com! Actually, that pen looks awesome. Thanks for the opportunity.

This is wonderful Steve. As one who already owns a Mottishaw customised Nakaya I can attest to the fact that they are some of the finest writing fountain pens in the world. John is a true artisan, what a gift to receive I will repeat here what was in the thread Steve links to!

Here are a few pictures of my Mottishaw double broad stub flexi nibed Nakaya in Kuro tamenuri. The last image is a bowl that has aged a year to give an idea of the organic nature of Nakaya's Urushi finish!

One last thing, Nakaya's are made by a very small group of Artisans in Japan, all hand made, hand turned and the Urushi process takes up to three months to complete!

The come with a beautiful hand made wooden box and wrapped in a Kimono which you can just see at the bottom of the picture!

Feast your eyes on the nib created by an artisan, truly the finest nib I have ever written with, I can't begin to describe the smoothness of the nib, the way the ink flows at the perfect rate and yet at the same time so much feel to the nib!

Johns work makes writing become an art form!

Kuro tamenuri (layers of red urushi covered with more layers of black. The black over years of use goes clear leaving the red to show through, like gazing into a moonlit pond!)
New

After one year

Thank you again Steve, must admit I would love to be greedy and add another Nakaya to the stable, this time the wonderful Brown blue green, good luck to all those who enter, you will love this pen!

These are the artisans in Japan who will build your pen.

http://www.nakaya.org/eman.html

The craftsmanship involved, every pen is hand made in very small numbers, this is as near bespoke as you are going to get! Add in Johns tuning of the nib and it is like having a Saville row suit made!

Excellent Steve! Fine writing instruments and fine watches are close together. Who wants to write with a fountain pen these days? Who relies on knowing the time by something as archaic as a mechanical watch? We do
I guess I'm out as well, being a staff member, but I wish you all the best of luck This is truly a very special occasion!

It isn't just a pen, but as Shandy says, it is a tailor made pen, tailored by the best pen artisans in the world.
