Acquiring JLC reverso advice

Seeking advice on best price and way to buy a reverso (new or used). Most interested in medium duoface, which is listed at $9,350 on JLC’s website. It looks like they have relatively few/no locations in Florida anymore - either AD or boutique.

Does anyone from the forum have any thoughts or ideas for a discount? I see a few listed here around $8,500. Thanks in advance.

ive found that square and rectangular watches wear differently than round watches. if trying on in person is out of the question, you might even make a cut out based on dimensions on the JLC site to make sure you pick the right one for you

I think this is one of the watches that need to be tried on in person. They wear very large imo.

This. Because the case has integrated lugs that do not drop below the caseback, the lugs feel and appear to be part of the case itself, which makes the watch wear larger than the stated dimensions. I have a Grande Taille case (26 mm X 42 mm) and it wears just right on my 7 inch wrist. The current larger cases measure 45 mm to as much as almost 50 mm. The watch can feel very much like a brick on your wrist if it is too large, so it is good to try on multiple sizes before plopping your money down.

Try it on in person and then email some AD’s out of state. You will get that discount easily plus save on tax.

I have a 7.25 inch wrist and assumed that I would go for the large. The medium was actually much more appropriate. But I think it probably depends as much on wrist shape as it does on size. I think trying it on is essential.

+1 try it on. Also feel if the 'wrist balance' is ok long term.

I agree with the previous comments. I have a medium and the grand calendar. I have worn the grand calendar three times.

I've tried on the medium small seconds (non-duo face) - my wrist is 5.5" give or take. I have to admit, it was NEVER on my radar, I was trying the MUT date, and the sales guy asked if I would try on the Reverso... I told him I don't like rectangular watches, but I humored him... Long story short, it was amazing. I wasn't planning to buy any watch (I was waiting for a flight at Heathrow)... but in hindsight, I wish I grabbed it.

It may be my next watch, but I would still prefer the non-duo face... the duoface is cool with both dials, but not at the expense of the extra thickness (in my opinion). I like slim watches.
