New Member formal intro

Hi guys, kohym here from sunny Singapore. Just joined this forum and hope to learn more from the Rolex folks here.

I started with a Tissot le Locle and slowly move into Japanese divers, awhile into Citizen and Orient, but now more a Seiko devotee.

My collection focus is to own an iconic wearable piece of each major (in my opinion) Swiss brand; a very idealistic thought I know, as I have only two wrists and to wear two watches to work raises eyebrows

I keep my personal Blog to document my watch encounters.

As for Rolex, I am a late-bloomer. In this part of the world, Rolex = $$$ and I thought there is not much into the brand and people just buy Rolex so that they can later sell for cash (which is a common trend from legacy in my country).

Until when I bought my first Sub, I was blown away. Now I know what the hype is about. To me Rolex are good collection timepieces esp. the Sports models and probably a good investment in the future in some aspect (but pl don't liquidate all your savings to pump into Rolex watches , cash is still king!)

Currently I am wearing a F-series SD (pre-own):

I also recently bought a brand new complete set Exp II that I am keeping as a "time capsule" collection piece:

My pre-own Sub was sold a few weeks back (to fund my SD):

My plans in the future?

I hope to be able to collect an entire brand new Sports series, one of each, in my "time capsule":
-non-ceramic bezel Sub Date (long shot)
-SD but not the DSSD (a super long shot)
-Sub
-Exp I
-Daytona

Very nice SD and Exp. good luck with your time capsule but it's impractical as these watches should be worn and not locked away as NOS. Have you heard about the Edsel car that was put in a time capsule and then raffled to a lucky winner? When it was unearthed, it was a rusted husk. I would collect your pieces but enjoy them for the next twenty years.

I'm also in the process of collecting 1 piece from each brand that I like. It's a very difficult task as there are multiple models per brand that will attract you. I've concluded that this is going to be decades in the process.

Yup, ultimately i will wear them all but enough watches to rotate so some will be locked away to just admire. Silly I know :)

Welcome to TRF. That's a nice introduction.

I suggest that you put the ExII to use! It is a great watch.

Best,

A

May I ask where you got the strap for the 14060m? I LOVE it!

Damn... A flight to singapore to buy a watch strap might just be a step too far!

Great look, though!
