I find it striking that for a white dial there is alot of variation.

This is really a great thread. I am very new to the world of Patek Philippe, and started my love for the brand by seeing a yellow gold Gondolo in real life at the local AD. Now, I am starting to venture out looking at other models as well before I decide on a new watch. The Nautilus, especially in it's simplest time and date form, is very appealing.

I am not normally a blue dial guy, but the 5711 is spectacular, and more versatile than most blue dial watches I have seen.

My real love is for the Rose Gold model, the 5711/1R-001 though, as I am specifically looking for a gold watch. Does anyone know if there is the same shortage of supply of this model, as there is with the stainless steel models?

I would say ‘no’. I’ve never seen a blue 5711 at an AD, but I’ve seen the gold one several times, including a few weeks ago. It’s priced out of reach of many 5711 fans, and purists would find it too different from the original Genta masterpiece.

Having just procured one after failing to get a blue 5711, I can tell you that the 5711r is still available at retail or a touch below, while the blue 5711 on the secondary market is at around 38-40k. At that point, it makes more sense to go all gold.

One of the trusted sellers here on trf.com has a 5711R BNIB that's slightly below US retail. I haven't seen a white or blue 5711 BNIB or used be lower than retail by a TS.

They are above retail in the UK, so US price seems good and will be going the way of the UK very likely shortly.
