Waiting list for 5711-1A blue

Today is exactly four years that PP AD in EU put my name on waiting list for 5711-1A. Still no call, nothing.
Any advice what should I do?

Do you have a strong history with that AD? If you have no purchase history my advice is: keep dreaming.

No history with PP dealer. Only with Rolex.

Shop around. Many people post saying they stumbled on one they did not really seek and bought it on the spur of the moment. Its a lot about timing with these.

Have you contacted them at all throughout this time? Does your point of contact even work there anymore?

One guy in the US said he found one by going on PP’s website and cold calling AD’s. He probably got laughed at quite a bit but he found one with a few months of searching. If you really want it don’t wait around hoping your AD gets one. Go out and find one.

My guess is that you’re just waiting. The list if real, won’t be of any help. Try to find a different AD. Call around and you might get lucky.

You get exactly zero of what you don't ask for........repeatedly.

In this case, it would appear that you needed to ask for the PP on a regular and scheduled basis with the AD.

Too late now, this watch has huge currency and will be used by an AD rather than straight sold on a list.

I would have bought about 5 other watches by now!! You can hit it lucky with periodic contact with various ADs as has been shown in this Forum

Before the Patek Exhibition hype, most steel models barring a 5711 were easy to source. But after the Exhibition, everything is hard to find. Keep in mind the 5711 blue was always hard to find in the first place. Either buy it with the premium or wait 2-5 years for one.

The temptation is surely there where an AD can put it out the backdoor and almost double the price.

I doubt this is the answer you´d like to hear but I suppose you´ll never get a blue 5711 from this AD.

Did they AD say anything about the expected lead time four years ago?

This is only like the millionth thread about availability of the blue dial 5711. While it's a stunning and great watch, I would have moved along a long time ago or just paid up the premium. Lots of other great watches (also from PP) out there for the same/less money.

I suppose it was, haha I got my 5167 for a good price few months before the exhibition. Now it's unheard of on all sports models. Steel or PM.

AP 15202 and even the 15400 are now becoming very scarce, seems the top sports models of the top brands are all going the same way, first world famine.

I hope you will get your 5711 very soon. Both the nautilus and aquanaut are great pair of Patek to own if you have plan to add Patek. I am lucky to have both in my small collection

Only if you have a strong solid relationship and past purchase history with the AD you have a chance

I noticed this as well the 15400 SS black/silver is no where to be seen at my AD. But the PM models are available.

Try the white dial. It’s much more subtle.

People generally want the date function on watches. From a resale standpoint, a watch with a date is easier to sell than one without. I guess PP felt the addition of the date makes this watch useful for more people. The only watch with the 324SC movement where I think the date detracts is on the sector dials of the 5296.

I hope you can find either the blue or the white dial to compare. The 40th anniversary has an even richer blue dial to the SS 5711/1A which is more of a grey/blue mix. Both stunning of course.

This watch has always had a date, since it's inception.

Beautiful pic, I really love the hour markers on this watch, so much so that I think I could even go for the diamonds.
