PAM 111 vs. PAM 112

Hello Everyone!

I'm about to purchase my 1st panerai and I'm deciding between either the PAM 111 or PAM 112 but still can't decide. I'm leaning towards the PAM 112.

Both the 111 and 112 have the sandwich dial. The only difference is the PAM 111 have the seconds dial while the 112 have all the numbers, 12, 3, 6, 9

Which watch is more attractive? Has anyone found the seconds hand useful in a panerai?

The seconds sub-dial on the 111 doesn't have a hacking feature, which means you can't reset it to zero or stop it, so it isn't actually of any real use compared to others which can be reset and used as a counter. The 112 has the clean dial, sandwich and looks great, if you can live without a seconds hand then it's the better buy.

totally agreed wit Ryan on this...if i were you i go with 112 with all the 3,6,9 & 12... The good thing having the sub dial second hand there is by looking at it we know its still ticking....

You need someone to tell you whats attractive?
How about your controlling significant other?
I would go for a simpler look

WELCOME To TRF, Pal!!!

Both GREAT!!! I have 112 before, but now already flip it. Yes, I'm still regret until now.
My first love is 111, that's the true Panerai to me.
If I were you, I will buy 111 first, and after that I will go for 000.
Congrats whatever you choose. Post pics if you already get one.

For three handers, 111
For two handers, 210

That is just my thoughts. It is ultimately up to you.

Between 111 and 112 = a touch call. can't go wrong with either

Between 005 and 000 = 005

On titanium models = no second hand dial

On PVDed models = second hand dial with painted dial.

Just my opinion

I like how it's more relaxed given you don't see anything moving on the face. You just confidentally know what time it is and not into all the minute details (pun intended) of life. It's rare to have an automatic watch with such powerful elegance. The 112 maximizes this potential.

With that said, you can only win here.

Why not take a look at the 000 and the 112 compared to the 005 and 111...now you'll really be confused as to what to get

I went for the 112.

Why?

The 112 has a cleaner dial than the 111. The hour and minute hands on both 111 and 112 are black, the seconds hand on the 111 is white - an odd mis-match.

There's no wrong answer however. I favour the 112 for the 3,6,9,12 look. But if they'd not had a 112 in stock I'd have bought a 111 as the difference isn't that great.

It's a great dilemma to have.

Both are great choices and it's a strange matter of personal preference at that point, I went for the 111.

here i am resurrecting it again :)

to the OP, what did you buy and why?

Another question, when we buy it, do we get the exact same strap among those 4 PAMs?
I am Panerai newbie, how many straps do we get when buying new?\

Thanks!
