233, if and only if its dot dial
on the other hand, i'd take 312 anytime over the 233 AM/PM dial

For me 312 all day long.

- Half the price
- Nicer cleaner dial
- Automatic
- 9 on the dial

IMO the 233 is way overrated. There's one gathering dust in every AD's showroom.

I'm sorry to revive this old long thread, but today I finally put my new(ish) IWC ceramic chrono in the safe, and out came the 233 dot.

I'd forgotten the details on this piece: dome, sandwich, proportions, curves.

There's no wrong answer to this thread's question, except the one above ^

I prefer a 320 over the 312. However, I'd take the 233 all day and twice on Sunday over the other two. The dome in the flesh is unbeatable IMO.

I expect to get frowned upon for this but quite why anyone prefers the 233 dot dial over the am/pm dial is beyond me. Sorry guys, I don't get it.

Back to the OP, I'd take the 233 any day. Whilst I really like the 312, I'd have my 359 over it any day. I would also leave the 312 behind in a zombie apocalypse

Just bought the 351, absolutely in love with it! I now have, the 111, 088, 351 and 441... 351 is in the tp spot.
I changed the strap out for the light brown Asso with beige stitch on deployant
I'll try to get some pics attached a soon as I'm on a real computer

Been gone a LONG time, but finally back at it. Looking to pick up a 312 soon, so you know which would get my vote

Here here.. Same delima. Still can't pull the trigger.

This gonna be my first PAM. Initially was planing to buy 312. My AD showed me the new 1312. As much as I liked the new slimmer case/movement, I didn't like the new fake patina and the blue seconds dial. I spent a week trying to convince my self that this new fake patina and blue seconds dial will be the new look of panerai, and I should get used to it... I couldnt like it.

I went back to my AD, and now he shows me the 320 and the 233. Initially I ignored the 233 because it's more expensive and the domed Cristal looked weird! So it became 312 VS 320. I liked the extra feature on the 320 and the fact that I could hide the GMT hand, so it become similar to 312. I asked the AD another week to think about it. For some reason, now I'm starting to lean towards the 233 :) something about it is magical. It reminds me of the Rolex SubC, you like it but you don't know why!

The AD is offering me the 312 at US $7,200 and the 233 at US $10,000 (taxes included). He is also throwing in an additional strap of my choice. Is this a good deal?

$10k for a brand new 233 from an AD seems like a pretty fair price, considering it includes taxes as well. If you ship out of state, that implies they could probably sell for close to 9,300? The figure is not terribly far off from what preowned 233s in good condition would fetch

I don't really follow the price of new 233,but even the pre owned price have gone up,used to see pre owned 233 dot for 6.5k usd, sold within hours....now I think pre owned price still hovering around 7.5-8k (with 533 goes for roughly 8.5-9k)

So if you can get new 233 for (let's say) 9-9.5k range, the price is already okay IMO

I remember I tried 312 when they just got out, ended up going with 351 instead (ti case, gold hands, tobacco dial)

As much as I like 233,I just cannot get it as my other pams will be jealous and I prefer something lighter....now if they make titanium 233 dot,I'm screwed.....
