Should I trade my 2020 complete set SD43?

Should I trade my 2020 complete set SD43 for a Batman or GMT II black bezel?

Batman maybe. Jubilee or oyster? Would you need to add cash? I love my SD43. I really like my Batman.

Man, that is a great shot. And oyster. I love my SD43 but I have been really wanting polished center links and like the wey the case of the GMT looks on the wrist. Just trying to figure out if it would be a stupid financial decision. But I did buy the SD43 for retail at my AD. But I would still be paying basically $3k over retail for the Batman because it would be the SD43 +$1000. I wish I could have both like you do. But with a baby on the way, it probably wouldn’t be the smartest decision to get both lol. What do you think man?

Sold my SD4K for a GMTIIc-LN. Best decision I’ve made. The SD is a little too bulky for my 6.5” wrist, whereas the GMT case sits flush. Also agree with the PCL’s comment. Didn’t think I would be a fan (maybe a little influence from all the talk on here), but they help add depth to the watch. Big fan of this piece.

Tough to add $$ while holding the SD43. I would think that with some patience you could get close on the Batman, maybe some cash back to you on the LN...or at least net cash if you sell it on your own and then buy one.

Moved along my BLNR to a family member, and picked up an SD43. Honestly I thought I'd miss the BLNR...but the SD43 just flat out rocks. Though I'm a dive watch guy at heart...so there's that too. :)

I would not make that trade. 1k plus a SD43 for a BLNR is a downgrade imo. You’re trading in the world of hype and inflated market values and losing out in my opinion. Unless you hate the SD43 I would just keep it.

Keep the SD43 and save up for the Batman. Would be a nice two watch collection.

If I could only have one it would be the SD43. Its the ultimate SS sports watch IMO. There is a reason it cost more at retail. Is it really worth paying a premium for the batman? Paying $4,000-$5,000 over retail for the batman is not worth it. Wear the SD43 and get on the list for the batman, when the call comes you can decide if you can swing both or you can sell the SD43 at that time. You can source a new oyster bracelet for $2,000-$2,500. You will get a brand new batman and put money back in your pocket with both bracelets.

If you really want the batman now then you have to do what you have to do but the SD43 is a great watch with more wrist presence plus it has the glide lock the batman only has the easy link. You could always have the center links polished to add a little pop. Its easy to return it to all brushed later if you want. The PCL are scratch magnets. Hope you are ready to live with that!

Have you tried them on in person? The pic makes them look to be about the same size but the batman wears much smaller. I have a 7.25 inch wist for reference. Good luck!

SD43 > Oyster BLNR

IMO you’re trading for the lesser watch. Sometimes as owners of these watches we get bored and feel the need for the next piece. Put your SD43 away for a month and see how you feel after trying it on again.

I'd keep the SD43 over the Oyster BLNR. You're trading down an expensive watch for a less expensive watch and adding cash, is not a good trade, not unless you really like the Oyster BLNR.

Get the BLNR later down the road to pair with your SD43.

Congratulations on the new baby!

I wouldn’t do that trade. You’re SD43 is being undervalued against an over priced BLNR. Congrats on the new baby.

I wouldn't do it. I would wait for the AD to get me one. That's what I'm currently doing. About 6 months into waiting.

The novelty of the new watch will soon wear off and you will then start looking for the next "fix" so best to stick with what you have - good luck with your new arrival and hope all goes well.

Just talked to my wife. She much prefers the Batman to the SD43. Lol. Just thought I would let you know. But to be honest I have a black and green sub date as well. She likes the bling on the bracelet and the blue.

I’d keep the SD50 + green Sub and trade your black Sub + cash to the BLNR.

I own the 116610 LN, 116610LV, 126600, and the 126710 BLNR. Its my picture with the Batman and SD43. I personally prefer the SD43 over all of them. For now... lol

I can understand the reality of the market vs the reality of prices in an AD, but there is also the technical truth, for Rolex the SD43 is a superior and more expensive watch in an AD, I would take advantage of the market price if it were the other way around, it is To say if you were the owner of the Batman, to take advantage of the market pric to buy another watch, but to give a superior watch plus 1000k just because the market prefers a 40mm vs 43mm watch (that's the only reason) is not a good deal for me.
