5167R + 26470OR for 5711/1R

Would you trade a like-new 5167R and a like-new 26470OR (grey dial on strap) plus a small sum (around USD$10k) for a like-new 5711/1R-001?

Thanks for your opinion

I would do it without the extra 10k added.

Personally, no way. I am sure I'm in the extreme minority here, but the 5167R is a nicer watch IMO than the 5711. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the 5711, but I don't get the fervor over that specific piece.

If the 5711 is your grail, and for many people it is, I'd try and continue to work the deal, but I wouldn't put in cash. You're giving up at least $70,000 in watches, and that's conservative. Last I saw, picking up a 5711 shouldn't run you $70,000 although that changes by the day it seems.

Do you want 5711R or are you actually dreaming of 5711A and settling for second best?

I want 5711/1R because I want a new watch with gold bracelet. Not much interest in steel nautilus.

My sincere apologies...I didn't see you wanted the 5711/1R.

That changes things. First off, the 5711/1R is stunning and I like it so much better than the SS version, but again that's personal taste.

The proposed trade seems reasonable to me given current market values. My only real point of concern would be are you going to wear the 5711/1R? That seems to me a piece you need to be very careful with, and not something as "wearable" as the two you'd be departing with.

Yes you are right. 5711/1R is not really a daily wearer. 5167R would be relatively more versatile.

I still remembered I saw a 5711/1R on display in an AD a few years ago but had not picked it up because I don't have the fund at that time. Instead, I bought the 5167R and wore it happily for a few years. Just recently I suddenly come up with the idea to trade it up for a gold bracelet nautilus and also depart with the 26470OR, which is too heavy and bulky so it doesn't get much of my wrist time.

5711/1R is a perfect daily if you wear long sleeved shirts all the time, that's what I do with mine. Never felt comfortable wearing it with a TShirt/short sleeves.

But one thing I noticed is that since the watch and bracelet is so thin, it doesn't get dinged like a Rolex or AP offshore. So scratching it is less likely.

For a limited wear piece, yes. I like it the best of the 3. That said, I’d wear the 5167r more. I’d try to shrink that cash number the best I can

I like the 5711/1r but you’re giving up too much in this trade.

Agreed, if it is a straight up trade would be a good deal. 10k$ USD extra is a bit over the top. Would negotiate the cash down, maybe 2-3k no more than that.

I prefer the 5167r.

But if I did not, I would do this. Sure..

I prefer the 5711r so I would do it, but I'd search for a better deal.

I like the idea of trading the 5167R and 26470OR away but in my ideal world I would rather get a future 5711/1J than the 1R.
