Wearing you Rolex while playing golf

Do folks take their watch off when playing golf? How bad is the impact when you hit the ball for your watch?

This has been asked many times. The general consensus is why take the risk. It is possible damage will be caused. Hit em straight!

I've worn one a bunch... on the range, 9 holes, 18 etc. On a bracelet it gets in my way. I've worn the OP39 on rubber and it was better.
In the end it's easier (and better for my game) to keep in the bag.

All personal preference. I don't play golf with any watch on but that could change if Richard Mille wants to give me a bubba watson RM :).

I wore my no date Sub playing golf and at the range for ten years. I played an average of 30 or more rounds per season and hit many,many buckets of balls over that time. I also wore it for anything else I was doing including working out, gardening, doing home improvement—you name it. After ten years I sent it in for service; RSC in New York replaced gaskets, serviced and polished and it looked and ran like new. It was running at -2 seconds per day when I sent it off. So...yes, you can play golf while wearing your Rolex and a whole bunch of other things as well.

Just take your watches off while playing! You shouldn’t be checking the time every 5 minutes while on the course, if you need to know what time it is look at your phone. I know Phil plays with one on, but that’s because he is actually right handed and he wears his watch on his left wrist. This way it doesn’t get in the way of his golf glove on his right hand. Very few other people who are actually good at golf wear one while playing.

U can... and I have... but I m sure the impact from the hitting the ball repeatedly is not good for any mechanical watch in the long run.

I usually wear my Garmin unless I don’t feel comfortable leaving my watch else where.

My yellow gold DayDate was an integral aspect of my swing. The added weight added at least 30 yards to my drive.

Seriously, my golf swing looked like I was having a seizure. The watch stayed on my wrist because that was the safest place for it.

I’ve worn it shooting clays for 20 years and it’s just fine.

Rolex watches are built tough.

I always leave it on...that way I got another excuse to use if the shot goes askew.

I don't as I wear a Garmin Approach X40.

If you don't use a Garmin or similar watch I think it just comes down to personal preference, you wont do the watch any damage so wear it as long as it's comfortable to do so.
