After the holiday rush - Unbelievable!

This was taken in a Rolex AD in Makati Philippines. Photo is not mine - it was shared in our FB group that I belong to.

Crazy!

I don’t know if a pic like that is good for the brand or the complete opposite and bad for it?!

Not good at all; for presentation and for sales.

Yep. What intelligent business would want to handcuff their distributors and neglect their potential buyers? It really is idiocy.

If someone walked in wanting to buy a watch they would walk out empty handed. That is a death spiral for a business who wants to maximize sales.

Sorry buyer, you want to spend $10k, 20k, 30k today?.... take a hike.

I only think about how there are no watches for us to buy, but what about these businesses, how r they surviving? I wonder if small mom and pop stores will drop the brand and carry a different line. Rolex is being ridiculous, in the end it's just a watch, make them so people can buy them. Waiting three years for a "mass produced" item is so dumb! Sorry for the rant.

If you project to sell 100 watches and have 2 left in a given timeframe, I think thats meeting the goal.

I don't know, it's not a isolated thing, I can't imagine every dealer ordered the perfect amount of Rolexs to sell them all off before 01Jan, the dealer in Norfolk, va has zero SS sport models. If I went to go look at new F150's and every dealer had zero on the lot, I would go look at chevy.

Far left is WG YM2, far right is DD40, I think the middle is a WG Daytona.

If you know the AD cashflow model, that is very good news. Their inventory on hand almost perfectly matched demand.

The owners are in an annual race to zero before year's end. The 2017 holiday sales volume in December will likely top 30% of the entire year. *
* In 2016 that the holiday season represented 28.6% of annual sales in jewelry stores.

It's the AD who holds the inventory - Rolex booked their sales once they shipped to the AD. It'll be slow selling in January but always is - few people are gift shopping this month. If you're looking for a SS model, it may be hard to find any. But PM models could still be out there for you...

I’d be pretty annoyed if I was a Rolex salesman reporting for work every morning having to stand in a boutique full of empty display cases.
I guess the flip side to that however is the bumper crop they must have harvested in the previous weeks.

This is what pushes customers to the Grey Market. I am Happy I found the watch I was wanting even at a higher Price. Hard to guess what people will buy. You Can't buy what's not there. We need a report from some one in Middle America off the Beaten Path. My AD
on the Beach East of Orlando has a few SS's. Orlando is pretty much Sold out.

No doubt. There is no sales revenue to pay their wages!
