But that's just my personal preference. No wrong answer here.

Fluted/jubilee. In stainless it isn't that dressy. To me, flashy is non-divers wearing a dive watch, or wearing a Yachtmaster when you don't have a boat.

My dad had a YG DJ in smooth/oyster that got ridiculously scratched through normal wear.

Fluted for sure. Learned my lesson the hard way - got a smooth originally, got bored of it, flipped for fluted, never regretted it...

The smooth bezel is much more under understated and cooler, IMHO. I especially like the smooth with the Jubilee.
Even though everybody says that flutted/jubilee and smooth/oyster, this combo in your picture is the one I am seriously interested in

Just got a fluted DJ this morning, actually! I think fluted is a no brainer. Also thinks looks best with jubilee, but oyster is sportier and more versatile. I have other watches on oyster so not an issue

Diamond. My wife loves her SS DJ36. We looked at Rolex catalog and visited AD many times. She preferred the one we found on eBay, and at very reasonable cost too.

So again, diamond for the wife. Happy wife, happy life :)

I agree, and that's why I went with smooth for my DJII. I do really like the fluted though. If I ever get a second DJ it will be fluted.

To me, a Datejust just isn't a Datejust unless it's fluted and on a jubilee bracelet.

Depends on what else in in your stable. Smooth if it's your only watch, fluted if you already have something else sporty.

I have two 36 mm TT DJs. Both have fluted bezels; one has a champagne dial with printed Romans; the other has a white dial with raised Romans.

I wanted my DJ to be more bling looking and have the iconic fluted bezel.

Smooth/ oyster.

Fluted/ jubilee reminds me of my parents' TT Rolex.

That's a tough call. I lean slightly toward fluted bezel with oyster bracelet over smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet, but it's close. I like the jubilee with fluted but I don't think I'd go that route. I appreciate them when I see them though.

Are we talking DJ36 or DJ41? I like the smooth bezel on the 41, but don’t like the “domed” bezel on the 36. So I like the smooth bezel on the 41 and fluted on the 36.
