$10k presents you with a lot of options in the world of Rolex.....I'd highly recommend the SS Daytona if it interests you at all.....the DSSD is super too, but is more similar to your GMTII-C than not. Take your time deciding and perhaps wait to see what Basel brings.

Congrats on the bonus by the way!

With a 7 day reserve, I think that the IWC Big Pilot is a great choice.

If I were looking to drop 10k on something, I'd probably wait until after Basel just incase something jumped out at me.

Other than that, Red Sub! I've seen some good examples on this forum around the 10k mark. Would be a great big brother to your LV.

Thanks all. Keep suggestions coming. I'm probably going to wait until Basel just in case, but the Big Pilot is calling my name. If not the Big Pilot, I'm leaning right now towards the Daytona.

Either way, once I make the decision, I'll post the pics

This is a Rolex forum so the majority of people will throw out Rolex models, but I think the IWC big pilot is something very special. Personally I have a hard time spending that much on one watch, but if I did, the big pilot would be on of my top choices, just amazing on the wrist.

I say going with something unique that you don't see every day. My vote is for a SS Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph.

With a decent discount, you should be able to find the SS version for $10-12K.

If Daytona, white or black dial?

I really love the Big Pilot, but I'm a bit concerned over the leather strap because since I've been wearing Rolex, I put it on when I buy it and take it off when I sell or trade it. I don't take it off the sleep or shower. I wear it for everything.

With a leather strap, I'd have to take it off for everything wet - showers, golf in the summer, swimming, etc.

Anything else I should consider? I don't really care for Panarei. Love AP's, but only the big ones and I only have $10k. Love A. Lange, but again only $10k.
black dial more classy, white dial more sporty..But both are gorgeous.Personal preference..I personally like the black more,It's more classy,elegant.. And IMO daytona has the best resale value. For 9k or 10k you can also get a used ap royak oak chrono 40mm. IWVc?I don't really care about them.. when buying a watch i always consider the resale value, aside from the quality and the looks. goodluck on your purchase..

The Big Pilot is a sweet watch. I don't know if I have the wrists to pull it off, but I love its look and that big onion crown. Super legible dial too.
