$$$ DaytonaC

How much are the lucky people paying for the Daytona C? Just wondering if they are going more than retail or is everyone paying retail at the AD's?

Most here are paying retail at AD. DavidSW has a couple on his site at $20k or so. Ebay has had several in that range.

Retail + tax at AD's.

Add premium if purchasing from reseller.

My understanding is that AD's can't charge over MSRP per RolexUSA

Agree. I think other countries may have different policies (or a lack of policies from Rolex). I know Singapore AD's are known for selling SS Daytonas for above MSRP.

A popular luxury site, Swiss Luxury, now lists both ceramic Daytonas for $ 18,425.00 US each, wired.

Indeed. $18.5K seems to be where market is now for resellers with immediate availability.

But but but... I thought John Mayer and Clymer said these things would be worth the same as small nation states....

That's what I noticed, I keep seeing around 18k, just wasn't sure if AD's would be there too.

Any AD trying to charge 18K would lose their relationship with Rolex... not worth it for a few extra thousand.

I'll happily pay full retail when mine comes in.
That's the first time I think I can say that.

I wonder if VIP status buyers get any discount on a DaytonaC due to their expenditures on an AD

Should get one within a few months from my AD ,paying RRP and no more. Would feel like a superficial git if I paid a premium to get it before other people. Not like my quality of life will exponentially get better by owning the new daytona :)

Not for me and believe me I have spent a few dollars over the years at my AD's.

PS My guess is that supply will also slow down a lot after this first early release. I know AD's were told that from Rolex for certain. I also know grey dealers are paying $14-15k for them so don't assume they are paying retail because most aren't. So they are paying premiums and thus selling for higher premiums. The watch has strong demand of course so they are moving.

I think most are getting them from ADs at retail.

Im getting it at MSRP - but it will be the MSRP at time of delivery. That could be a year out based on my current standing on "the list"

I know a Rolex and Omega AD that wanted double MSRP for an Omega. They were noncommital about how they would handle the Daytona so I told them to pound sand. This is an AD where I had previously purchased a PP within the last 3 months.

I am getting 2% off list (LOL) and I will get my tax back. It is just a gesture from my AD. I am okay with that.

There is an AD here in Canada where the SA has specifically told me on numerous occasions that they will sell the DaytonaC at "market" and not MSRP.

Interesting that even grey dealers are paying over MSRP, but makes sense.

An AD here in Tampa told me they wouldn't even put me on the list or sell me one because I've never done business with them. I looked at him like he was crazy, then followed by saying "well looks like I'll avoid buying anything from here if your refusing my business" ... Then I walked out. I thought it was ridiculous, or maybe it was the way he said it? Either way I was wondering has anyone heard of AD's doing this?

It's interesting that on their website they quite clearly state the MSRP is $12,400. You gotta give them credit for honesty as they tell you are being taken advantage of. In the end it's all about what the customer is willing to pay.
