And chiming in from far left field: A 1987 production 5513 - my favorite model from my birth year ;)

*Provided I could find one - how long do I get to hold on to this fictional 15K?

116600 SD4K

Out of production. Better than any modern SS sub.

Also you could get a 18038 daydate for under 15k.

Have to go with the 16710. Great GMT movement and hard to beat the three bezel inserts with a oyster and/or jubilee bracelet combinations.

Gotta agree here, worth the price of admission and it is special being different from the run of the mill Submariner.

WOW sd4k is running away with it! I'm surprised because I consider it more like a WIS sleeper

Don't buy any watch above MSRP
So it looks like it’s G shocks for most of us forever moving forward.

Wait the g shock I wanted is actually selling $20 above retail. Damn it.

Ok just use your iPhone as your watch, get rid of your TRF account, end hobby. That was fun for a while, I guess If I follow these directions, I can no longner participate in this hobby, unless of course I just buy watches I have no interest in owning.

I agree, that's why I'm suggesting the 116600.

Yes, it's $14k now.

Yes it was 8-10k new in 2015....

I could do a 114060 at $7.5k
I could do a 116610 at $8k
I could do a 124060 at MSRP
I could do a 126610 at MSRP

BUT I'm NOT going to spend 11-13k on a Ceramic Sub 11 or 12 series When the SD4k is sitting there for 14k... and I can swallow it because it's what I've wanted for a long time and should have bit the bullet at $10k 2 years ago instead.... But I bought a 16628 and 18038 in the meantime.... No Regrets.

It's the only modern Rolex model I can justify to myself to buy over MSRP because it's special.
