It's their business not ours. We don't know how much the watch actually sold for, or if it actually sold at all. And since we weren't buying it, who cares?

The price in question is stupid. It doesn't matter what the bar is and what dealers are willing to do. We either go there or we don't. And good luck to the purchaser of that watch - if there actually is one. If I had that kind of money to spare I wouldn't burn it. Some people would, some do. So what? As long as they're not burning mine.

Not surprised…there’s a couple rolex at double msrp and some PP, at market value, at triple msrp. This isn’t a shock….just the way it happens to be right now.

That makes the dial worth about $13,000 to someone. Sorry, but that is not rational and as long as people are out there throwing money around just to have the latest color there is little chance the prices will settle down in the near future.

I spent way over $5900 for my OP41 and really love it. I have other Rolex, but for some reason really love the OP41. I find myself wearing this one more than the other watches.

It's silly money to spend on a watch for sure. But unless you are paying it, it doesn't affect you.

Could have also been purchased by a speculator since that cohort does exist in the commerce spectrum.

I knew these brightly colored OP’s would be a big hit when I saw them at the AD trunk show in late 2020. The turquoise dial was a stunner but I gravitated towards the red and yellow colors. I was offered a red dial just a few weeks later, my SA said they were getting a bunch in the first few months. I turned it down as I had just made an unrelated large purchase that week. Told my SA around March of this year I was ready now and I’m still waiting. He says once they became allocation models in early 2021 they are receiving way less and the colors seem to be a random mix.
I believe the style and relatively low price appeal to both old timers like myself and a new younger generation of potential Rolex customers. Mix in the social media hype and the perfect storm for inflated prices has occured. I think $19K is silly, if my AD can’t come through for some reason, I will just not get one.

This is precisely the watch my wife has said she wanted. I think its beautiful, but I agree, for what it is and what it costs I would much rather buy a Pepsi.

Totally not worth $19K. The OP is an entry level Rolex which retails for $6K. It’s a very nice watch, I love the blue or black dial but I would never even consider spending that kind of money on a OP.

Let me ask: What percentage of the people buying an OP for $20k are buying it to actually wear/use and what percentage are buying it just to hold it because they expect the price to keeping on increasing (which they can then flip for a profit in a few months)?

20/80? 10/90?

I know the tiffany blue dial is hot but $19k is unbelievable for an OP41. Many amazing options at that price point... crazy times for sure

Looks a lot nicer than these $2 million Richard Mille.
100 times nicer watch at 100 times less the price.
Don't think the new owner is having any doubts. Absolutely stunning especially when compared to the Seiko replica common as dirt black steel sub which routinely sells for $16k!

Well I bought mine for $14k and wore it from the morning I got it. Never would dream of selling. 22 hour wait time from payment to delivery and no BS or games.

You better believe prices are not settling down anytime soon. This Tiffany will hit $25k by Xmas. And worth every dime.

I'm sorry but how is a watch that was $6000 a few short years ago in a white dial "worth" $25k because they changed the dial color. Do blue dials cost $19,000 to manufacture?

We just had someone give a $15k tip at a diner in NH. I don't think paying 19 for a stunning and RARE (bring it on haters) watch which as likely as not is going to hold its value is stupid.
Especially if its bought with **** you money which most of us are doing.
Sure beats paying $40k a couple to some lying politician at a chicken dinner fundraiser!

If you know history well, you can foresee it repeating itself. 1920s America was just like that when something was selling for much more than its normal value and there was an incredible flow of money. The way to put a value on something was how wildly it was sold. The problem is that we are living in the same period right now. Cryptocurrency, uncontrolled flow of money and items that are overspent. Believe me, it won't take long. Maybe it's the 100th year of the great depression, that is, history may repeat itself in 2029.
