Agreed. But it’s more than he ever said for/about Rolex.

Rolex have done all they can to try and imply it but only Smiths has the legitimate claim.

I may be wrong but I understand that Hillary and Tensing agreed that they would never disclose which one of them got to the summit first so even if Hillary wore or carried a Smiths and Tensing had a Rolex it is impossible to know which watch was first on the summit!

No, it was Hillary.

Not that it matters.

We know Hillary was wearing (or "carrying or whatever) a Smiths. We don't know what watch, if any, Tenzing had with him.

So: a Smiths was first on the summit.
