A Daytona II similar to what they have done with the DateJust and the DayDate. Increase in size but keep the original model. All about options.

Bigger watches. 42-44mm. It's not a fad as many once thought.

This, plus 42mm size and keep it thin.

But don't go silly and expect me to pay more than $35k for gold.

You can get the cyclops removed cheaply and easily.

I asked at the Rolex boutique in Harrods and I think they said it could be removed for less than £50 by them.

A 42mm Sub, increase the size of the Daytona and add a date complication, and stop increasing prices every year or so.

Nono, there you are wrong!

That would mean a terrible blow to the water resistance!

Sorry, didn't read carefully, removing the text will only have minor impact on the water resistance, just make sure to replace the seals once the crystal is refitted after sanding off the text...

Love the DSSD, but all that extra text makes it too exclusively sporty, and for me, it looses the formal / dressy aspect.

Was joking above, but I do agree with you. The classic Submariner style has stod the test of time for more than 50 years, and would (will) probably for another 50. I keep coming back to the comparison with my Omega PO 2500, I really want to flip it for a 8500, whereas I don't see any point in flipping the 16800 for something newer. It just keeps kicking the way it is, and that is the real strength with Rolex and why they keep their value so well.

40mm, but a 1mm increase would give the piece a bit more presence and perceived value IMO.

I feel this way because after seeing and putting one on in person at my local AD, the first thought I had was how small it looked. Then I started thinking about its price tag!

In my mind, a Chrono should always be slightly bigger than one's core product line... to differentiate the product and price. GBB (good, better, best.)

I also see Chrono's as a wrist piece, an exotic one, the "one" and "only" grail of the line, one that dominates every essence.

But any larger than 41mm would be fad. The big watch thing is getting old and more and more ridiculous everyday.

The Daytona is stunning in photos, but in person, I just didn't feel it and wanted it to get a light steroid injection.

Lug bevel & Rolex Fabric strap compliment for Sport model. Tudor (which only 1/3 Rolex price) can give that.

seeing as how rolex moves at glacier speed i'll stick to doable changes that could happen by 2020.

1) offer a choice of band options with the watch head purchase. buyers choice.
2) include a quality rubber band with all 300M + dive watches
3) allow for loyal AD clients (at the least) to order simple exterior replacement parts without having to return the old ones. the anti-counterfeiting argument is tired and full of holes
4) allow all rolex ad's to sell at any price they desire without retribution

No, not really...it's really just called the Sea-Dweller. The Sub is the normal diver and there has always been a beefed up version called Sea-Dweller and now Deepsea.
People want something in the middle or could have done with the Deepsea not being so extreme. We like it, I like it but 1000 meters would have been enough, and the huge case would not be necessary.

This is what we want.

Yeah but on the modern professional line their is an AR coating under the date cyclops and on the under side of the crystal. Removing the cyclops means there remains this transparent blemish, hence the request for no cyclops from the factory as an option. Or add an AR coating to the whole entire crystal not just under the date.

Check out this GMT2 without the cyclops.
