Replacing 16200 DJ Sapphire for Plexi with no Cyclops

Hello,

I would like to swap out my sapphire crystal with cyclops on my 16200 DJ for a vintage dome Plexi. Had a few questions for the community:

1. Will a replacement for an explorer 1016 work on the date just since they are both 36mm oysters? If not does anyone have other suggestions here?

2. Does anyone have a website they like to use for replacement crystals or a seller on Ebay they use?

Thanks in advance for the help everyone!

best,
Max

I get my rolex crystals from CousinsUK
Ebay ones are unpredictable in terms of the shape if your going aftermarket.

Sternkreuz make good aftermarket ones.

Good to know, thanks for sharing.

Are they better than USA Clark's?

It’s not that simple you will also need a higher bezel as they are different from old plexiglass models
to newer sapphire crystal models

yes you are correct they do differ slightly but the sapphire model bezel will indeed fit decently and lock down the acrylic crystal. lots of locals here in our area have switched to acrylic with no issues, both using gold and SS bezels.
i'm sure the quality of replacement acrylic crystal might have a lot to do with it as well.
