Awesome watch. I own it also. Got it right when it came out and likely paid to much. Oh well.

If you can buy it online at Panerai website I’d shoot for 25%-30%. That one is hit or miss on availability, but I feel 20% should be doable. Less than I bought mine for. I just really wanted it.

Wearing it now.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. I am looking to add a Panerai back to the collection. I've owned and subsequently traded away a few Luminors over the years, but really want a Radiomir. I popped into the local Panerai boutique here in Toronto see how a 47mm or 48mm would look on my girly wrists. Too big so it's 44mm or 45mm for me!

I have always been a "complications" and "display back" kinda guy but was really drawn to the hobnail design and simplicity of the dial on the 643. i just really really wish it had a display back!

Thanks again for the insight, just waiting to here from the Boutique about what they can do price wise before going the Grey Market route if need be!

Dan

Hey Peter,
Apparently 4% is the most the Toronto boutique would discount, and not sure the AD here would be all that much better. And even if they were, the price I got from a trusted resaler on TRF for a mint 384 with warranty remaining made me go for the 384 over the 643.

Still love the 643 dual though!

Was visiting Panerai boutique at Caesars Forum shop in LV and they offered $600 off on PAM1523 or 523 and two free leather bands. Couldn't save on taxes by shipping to CA so I passed. May end up just getting from Jomashop.

The logic about getting a discount if able to buy on the website makes sense. Outside of a discount what incentive do customers have from buying at an AD? Maybe getting some straps thrown in? If you buy online there is no tax. I am not sure what the watches cost the AD or what margins they shoot for, but it seems they would be highly motivated to provide a decent discount...especially if a customer can just order online.

I like the logic of getting a discount if buying online. If bought online you also do not pay taxes, apparently. Outside of getting extra straps, there would be no monetary type incentive to buy from an AD. I am not sure how much it cost the AD to get the watches or what there margin goals are, but I would think the motivation would be on the AD to sell their product even if it is just above their total margin.

Is 30% off a Panerai realistic? I was looking at a PAM1392 or PAM392 (which are available online) and it didn't seem like the salesman would move at all. He said he could throw in a strap that I liked.

If anyone know a dealer who does 30% and ships, let me know! My card is ready!

So they won't doing shipping now? I thought they would.

I talked to the LV Omega Boutique and they won't do shipping to CA, so I basically had to do NV sales tax there.

I havent shopped Panerai in a very long time but last I checked with the local ADs, they were not moving, so would think high discount is possible.

I do like Panerai and was looking into getting a 422. I was quoted 21% off by a well known grey dealer here for BNIB.

I would expect 20% if you’re a repeat customer. If it’s a boutique, I’d expect a Coke and a strap or two.

Yea from my past experience of your not getting 20% minimum walk away. I was in Florence last year and I didn’t even walk in becaue I knew the nostalgia of buying it in Florence would cloud my “acceptable” discount lol.

Visited St Thomas on Harmony of the Seas during this Christmas holiday. Not sure if it's an authrized dealer, but they sell almost every model at 20~30% discount except couple limited editions. Didn't find the one I wanted.
