Hold Your Horses, Brace, Price Increases

I have word that the price increases for the new watches will be anywhere from 12% to 15%. Source says old watches will see 7-8% increases.

Reasons cited are new bracelets, new designs, and new movements.

It may be based on another rumor I don´t know, but if these prices hold true the secondary market is going UP.

Also, it seems that because of the new variety, models will be produced in smaller runs, and will be very difficult to obtain.

Looks like I hopefully gained a little more equity in my BLNR before I flip it for a new SS Pepsi.

I was floored to not see a price increase across the board. Wouldn’t it have made sense if there was going to be an increase to do it alongside the releases?

Not necessarily. The increases may be announced down the road a bit, when the new watches become available.

They reduced the prices of both the WG Sub and the WG GMT.

They may well have dropped all the PM prices but they’re the only two reductions I’m certain of.

Why would Rolex post the price of the new pieces on the website, only to raise them before they even get released...or shortly there after?

euro has strengthened as much as 20% against the dollar in the past five years and currently about 8% stronger so I can see Rolex in no particular rush to raise prices. It's already a very expensive luxury good.

Looks like my source heard a rumor. I now see the new SS Pepsi listed for $ 9250, or $300 over the Batman. Such price increase is reasonable for the jubilee premium and new movement. maybe prices will stay put for the existing models.
