GMT II - Pepsi OysterSteel DELIVERY DATE

I put down a deposit over the phone this morning. They have just charged my credit card and sent me the receipt:

of course I cropped out the sensitive information.

BUT to my surprise, there's a "ready by date" of August. Could it be true? Who knows.

Anyone else have similar deposit receipts or experiences?

Ummm...that is an insane deposit to be sitting with your AD for what could be a year. Especially given they will certainly sell every piece they receive so they are taking zero risk.

I can't believe OP can accept this deal. For Daytona might be.

Since the OP hasn't responded, I assume he's off trying to either get his money back or figure out a way to explain to his wife why he just charged $4,600 to their credit card. haha... but it is a beautiful watch, and when his wife finally sees it in 17 months she'll understand.

They can put any date they want that far out. It's such a wide window they know they can fill your order in the next 1.5 years. As long as they meet the date it's all good. And if they don't meet it, they will tell you it's delayed, and what can you do? nothing but ask for your money back. The date is more of an estimate than anything. Like AK797 said, interest free loan you gave them.

YOU could probably make a $5k profit if you flip it upon receipt

right but how many will you get? Will they make it like everything else? slow the supply chain? if you get two a month, great. But if you have 50 people wanting to buy, well you can do the math on how long it'll take you to fulfill the demand. Some people will not see them until 2019/2020 if rolex releases them in small amounts like everything else lately.

Mayors won't accept deposit money though I did offer.

To be honest, I think it will be as "limited" as Hulk, Batman, etc
I will know soon anyways :)

Me too.....Limit supply, get the masses into an AD, sell them a DJ cause pepsi is 5 year wait lol. Some sales person who doesn't know what they are talking about will tell them they can "flip the DJ for close to what they paid for it towards pepsi when their turn comes." win win for rolex and AD lol

Called my AD at 10 am this morning and got on the waitlist at #4. Got on the same AD's waitlist at #4 for the white dial 116500ln and received the watch in exactly two years, hopefully, it will be quicker for the GMT, thoughts?

On the Rolex website with the introduction of the new Pepsi. It says "GMT-Master II in Oystersteel."

I think Rolex might have started using this today, because I saw other posts asking about this today.

I also read that Oystersteel is 904l steel

I’m guessing they’re just giving themselves a huge buffer and you’ll have it before Christmas
