This just TANKED all previous Deepsea models. A lot of guys were hoping their DBlues were going to be ‘collector’ pieces too. This updated bracelet and movement is worlds better.

We will have to see how it pans out, could go either way really regarding the secondary market.

Rolex, Rolex, Rolex... was the red paint finished? Come on, one line on the new DSSD was too much to ask for?

Just the upgrades this watch needed!! Fantastic watch!

I respectfully disagree to the ones thinking the original JC is not going to become a collectible. Guys the original James Cameron run in very small numbers my understanding is that it will definitely be a collectible just for this reason alone.

SD4K was off by many people's judgement, lets just say it has done ok since they stopped production.

what makes you think they are going to flood the market with the new one?

Just saying its going to be hard to get too, but its "improved". T premium for the original will disappear after these hit the stores.

All the modifications that it needed. Well done Rolex with this. Much better proportions. I dare say the dials will be unchanged and fit in either 116660 or 126660.

Now need to get a clasp from this to go on my 126600 Sea-Dweller and it will be perfect!

there isnt a comparable replacement for the SD4K. There is a larger version with a cyclops. The DSSD is almost exactly the same, but improved.

apples and oranges IMO

Where did i say this? I mean the original JC run for a short period of time and in small numbers.
Even if the numbers of the new are equally released i doubt the new one will have the short life span of the JC.
Time will tell.

I’m gonna have to see this one in person, I really hope I like the new design but the wider bracelet is something that I actually don’t prefer (looks wise). But change is good!

I’ll be keeping my original D-Blue. I actually like the tapered bracelet and never saw an issue with the lugs.
The main complaint for most is the case thickness which remains the same.

yeah i get that. Im just saying its not a revolutionary change like updating the SD. There is a place for the SD4K as the new one is so different. This one is not that.

This one is almost exactly the same as the original and i cant honestly think anyone would chose the thin bracelet model now that there is another option.

I didn't hate my DSSD bracelet, i bought one after all. Over time though, it started to bug me.

No way as the bracelet being wider the case has to be redesigned to accommodate it.

It is definitely a nice upgrade over the old DSSD. Bracelet was concerning me when i had it but i really liked it overall.

True but the DSSD has no predecessor, first of its kind and although misformed I think will hold up ok, D-Blue even more so. Only time will tell but I wouldn't sell my mint condiioned DSSD1 for less than I would have yeterday because of the new release.

I don't think it's going affect the current value of the D-Blue.
Remenber the D-blue is quite young.
The new version might just make the old version more valuable because of the fact that it wasn't produced for a very long time.

Wow, Rolex really listening to TRF!

DSSD with wider bracelet so not so top heavy, and a SS BLRO.

Who says Rolex doesn't listen, they are a Social Media firm like everyone else now. Looks like the low supply won't change so instead Rolex trying to give us what we've asked for.
