Faded Fat Font Bezels - Only good with Patina??

Gents:

As I have posted (a lot!! ) I recently acquired a late, late, late SN 1665. The dial is crisp white, not really even a hint of patina.

I've always loved those ghost, fat font bezels. And when I purchased the SD, I thought I would eventually buy one to mix it up. But, I'm wondering if these ghost bezels only look good on patina-ed dials? Is it the combo of the ghost bezel and the aged dials that make it look so cool?

Does anyone have a pic of a white dialed sub/SD with a faded bezel? Perhaps that would help answer my questions.

Thanks gents. Hope everyone is having a good evening.

V/R

Mike

nah faded inserts work with everything i'd say

it's all down to invididual preference

i like my inserts, old and new, looking sharp and factory fresh with vidid colours

having said that knocking on a nice ghost insert on my sub below would look shit hot. it'd match the matte dial

Tough call. There is something beautiful about a vintage watch that is in such NOS condition that it could have rolled off the production floor yesterday. Witness my 1680:

Here's the same watch with a faded insert. It looks pretty cool, but still not in character with the vibe of the watch. I like it, but not a daily wear item. Anyone looking for one?

Eric: Thanks for the pic. I think faded bezel with white dial looks good. The faded bezel just gives it more of a vintage look. Thank you for posting.

Anyone else have any photos?
