I prefer the Pelagos to the Sub in all regards, but at the end of the day, if you don't like it, what's the point in having it ? Trade it....

Truth!

I recall someone did a experimental here a few months back, asking whether people here would pick the Pelagos or Sub for saturation diving. Guess what, the majority of people picked the Sub. Though I would concede it's unlikely most people on here are saturation divers, or are diving to depths more than the Sub can handle.

EDIT: found it:

Based on the other watches that you own, I would not. For me the Pelagos is a great watch and in a lot of aspects I find it better than the Submariner. I like the titanium, lume, bracelet, clasp and the all too cool appearance. I have done a couple of trades in the past with my Pelagos watches and they have always found their way back into my collection. I am waiting on a LHD from my AD right now and I have the Blue dial.

You've obviously fallen out of love with the Pelagos. File for a divorce citing irreconcilable differences....

Guys, don't waste your time trying to change the OP's mind. This case is done and dusted.....

I wouldn’t cos 114060 is too similar to the rest of the collection. Sell it if you don’t feel like wearing the Pelagos again.

If you don't wear it, then yes.

I don't think I'll ever sell my Pelagos, fantastic watch in every respect. If it only said "Rolex" on the face it would be a lot more popular! (But I understand some don't care for the Titanium - I wouldn't mind having it in SS myself)

Sorry, but nobody nowadays would do a saturation dive with a mechanical watch... we all use computers. One main, one back-up. I do know some guys wearing mechanical watches, but they don’t use them in D.S dive, and I think I am the only guy with a Rolex, most are Seiko and such....

Quite true. The most water these watches will see is an accidental splash when washing the hands!

Or the 18ct white-gold, finer-formed hands (for corrosion resistance); better than COSC +/- 2secs rate guarantee; bomb-proof 313X movement family; trip-lock crown; more comfortable clasp; more versatile looks; peerless history etc.

However, I'm only playing devils advocate.

Given your existing diver collection, not least an 14060M, it's a no-brainer to keep the Pelagos - Tudor made an incredible, capable, distinctive watch and the huge price saving could be put toward something equally different again.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, they all look the same black dial sub/sea dweller but I also own a 16710 and 116520. I like both the 5 digit and 6 digit references, would like to own one of the 5 digit and 6 digit. Does that make my collection redundant, yes. But it lets me own the classic cases without getting into older and more rare models and modern references.
