I guess the first step at rue Royale is getting let through the doors and not being greeted on the sidewalk :p

This is so true! I emailed them before I visited Paris. Then on the sidewalk was told to call the number on the card, which I did. Was told that I would be called back. Never have been called back.

Unbelievable. I have had some good experiences with the boutique in Capri, they were very friendly and helpfull. Made you feel welcome.

Paris is a disgrace.

I wish we could pin this for when all the AP bootlickers whine that AP and their SAs can do no wrong, that its the customers fault, and that the customer doesn't understand how hard it is to say no to people all day...

Price increase official for USA, just saw on AP's site. Seems ~5% increase across the board (at least for steel):

ROO- $42.6k
ROC- $35.6k
16202- $34.9k
15510- $26.6k
15550- $25.3k

Crazy that a ROO is ~$46k out the door now. Seems like not that long ago I remember Vampire/Elephant being ~$26k!

USA was $33.8k > $35.6k, honestly I’m surprised EU prices didn’t come to parity with USD after such a drop in value. You’re still ~10% cheaper than us out the door on that model as we have tax on top.

Same experience for me in Paris

Capri I agree was amazing. Enrico was great and although nothing to buy he did show me the only ROO 43mm they had on exhibition.

Does AP typical raise their prices once a year or twice a year?

Glad I got the call and picked up my ROC last week and saved myself $3k! Although I wouldn’t turn down another 50th piece at the new price

Do the prices on the site establish the value of my contribution here?

Only if you can also help us get past the bouncers at AP Paris boutique!

As there seems to be a lot of distaste towards the Paris boutique recently, I feel like I should offer some thoughts and clear up some expectations for this location.

First of all I have to acknowledge that communication is clearly not their strong suit, and there is no excuse for this. To greet clients on the sidewalk is embarrassing and everyone deserves to at least be welcomed through the doors.

That said, the boutique has extremely limited space on the inside, and there is a table for guest appointments just behind the welcome desk. There is space for no more than 2-3 people standing at the welcome desk, and not even seats for those waiting for their appointment slot. If when you arrive for an appointment and your SA is not available yet, they will often ask you to leave and come back in 15-20 minutes simply because there is nowhere for you to wait inside. You can see why they often have to meet walk-in visitors on the sidewalk in front, and why they were among the first to function on appointment only visits. On top of this there are no display cases except for a few non-functioning Codes which are a recent thing as well. So for walk-in visitors looking to just browse the boutique, this is pointless. Add on top of that the fact that AP boutiques will now for the most part only accept new clients that are local, this explains why many tourists are not getting a response from the Paris boutique.

Now as someone who enjoys visiting a new AP boutique whenever there is one where I am traveling, not to buy anything but just to network and experience the brand, I understand how disappointing this may be. That is why I feel they definitely need to improve their communication. This would leave a much different impression for visitors as evidenced by this thread. However, the number of times where I have witnessed tourists walk in and ask if they have any Royal Oaks or Offshores available... I can understand the welcome staff's difficulties as well.

On a brighter note, as they are the only point of sale now that serves all of France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, they regularly have stock available, at the very least for trying on cool pieces. On top of that several of the SAs are exceptional, so once you have an in you are almost glad they turn away so many others

Lastly, when the AP House eventually opens, hopefully depending on the size it will be able to accommodate more visitors. Far from a guarantee though given how difficult it is to find space in Paris.

But for any locals that are having trouble getting an entry into the boutique, I am happy to offer some tips via PM.

I’m surprised the 15500 is in the site/ prices were updated. Anyone have any news here?

Is this now rhe new norm? Twice-yearly increases of ~5%?!

I mean don't get me wrong, if you're in the market for an AP chances are you can handle it but still... On a 25k watch that's an additional 5k after two years....!

5 years ago a 15400 was €18k and you could grab it by walking through the door.
Now retail is €26k for a 15510...

To be fair, 5 years ago 15400 can be bought for $15k-$16k in any dial on the second market:

Now the 15510 is $70k grey - so $26k is still a bargain.
