Any expert opinions on this 1928 Oyster please?

Looks nice to me, but I have no idea about pre-war models. Obviously the seller is of very high standing in the Vintage community. Comments much appreciated, thank you.

That's beautiful, but rather on the small side (just so you're aware)...

Yeah, i know it's very small. More a collector's item. Do you think it is a particularly interesting example? I see a few similar in Dowling's book. Price seems quite reasonable.

Very, very nice watch. Dowling is clearly the expert. Just so that I'd have complete information before buying, you may want to ask about the lugs. Most watches I'm familiar with from this time period have thin wire lugs. Those on the this watch definitely are nice and look more solid. It also looks as though some repair work may have been done by the crown tube on the front.

It is pretty near impossible to find a watch from this time that hasn't had some work done on it, so if you want a watch like this for your collection, this could be the one.

I might be meeting up with JD for a face-to-face on this watch this weekend, so just want to run this post through again in case any one else has an opinion. Thanks.

That would be a rare pleasure to meet him. It's always best to see the watch in person before making your decision (not always possible).
