GMT II Pepsi love at first encounter (pics)

I was in NYC this weekend and fell in love with a Pepsi. A watch I never thought I would like because of the "super case" and the jubilee bracelet.

To my surprise the watch fit my small 6.4 -6.5 inch wrist perfectly (IMO), and the Jubilee was ultra classy looking. I was expecting the jubilee to look kind of tacky, but it wasn't at all. So this watch is a massive buy for me, and most likely my next purchase if I can weasel my way around the waiting list issues.

What do you guys think?

Here's some pics from the AD:

Looks great on your wrist Mat.

To put it simply, I think the BLRO is the best modern SS Rolex the company makes...it's functional, comfortable and stunning. I'm biased though as I wear one everyday

Looks Fantastic! Wife purchased one for me and it is one of my favorites.
Interested to know was it sitting in a display case at AD?

It's beautiful.

Did you get it?

Pepsi on your hand looks good. Which AD holds this desirable fitting watch?

Just to update on the AD queries:

This was at a Rolex AD in NYC near Maddison ave. It was a pre-owned and marked up around double the price of retail. If I remember correctly the sales man said 20k!!!

I am now back home in my local city and will try and source this from a local AD.

Pre-owned at an AD near Madison Ave. Was able to try on but would never buy at 2X the retail price.

Loved the colors. Rich but subdued. This one really surprised me. Would not buy it at 2X the retail price. If I can manage to find one local at retail in a split second just like most of us lol.

I'm sorry to swim against the stream here, but it looks monstrous and ridiculous on your 6.4" wrist. Like an invicta on a 7" wrist.

I would look at a smaller sports watch.

Thanks. I was shocked how well it went on my wrist. The second I saw it in the display it drew me in. I thought the colors looked kind of brash in photos, but in person its pure class.

I just got mine last week and I haven’t taken it off since. A must buy it you get the chance. I wouldn’t pay over retail but that’s just me, good luck in the hunt!

Does it really look "Monstrous" and "Ridiculous"? I think not.

I can definitely go a little smaller, but I l already have a 34mm air-king that fits great. I'm looking for a sports watch now and don't mind a slightly larger size.

Also, it does look a little larger in the pics than it did in person.

Damn lucky guy! I would buy instantly at retail, like I'm sure most people who like the model would. May I ask how long you waited for it? Cheers

Nice! Man I wish they made a XL version of this watch so it would look like that on me!

Have you tried on an older 16610 sub? These 40mm+ maxi cases do not look good on small wrists. I have the same issue with a 6.75" wrist.

The difference between 34mm and 40mm with a big sports watch bezel is vast.

Maybe even a 39mm explorer or milgauss would look much better.

I have yes. They definitely fit smaller/slimmer. I'm also usually very picky with the size but something about this Pepsi with the Jubilee just worked. The new GMT II's are slightly slimmer than the new ceramic Submariners also, they sit flatter on the wrist.

Would you not buy one?

I agree it's a significant difference in size, but it's also a totally different style of watch.

From what I hear the 39mm Explorers have long lugs and fit larger than the new 40mm sports models.

I would rather have a larger case with shorter lugs than a slightly smaller case with large dial and long lugs that protrude off the wrist.

The lugs on this Pepsi were pretty good.

I think it looks great on your wrist. Wrist shots ALWAYS make the face seem much larger than it really is. The 40mm maxi case may be the most universal case size out there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on someone and thought it looked too big or too small.
