Don't be afraid!

Odds are you'll never go to around 60m or 200ft. But do try the pool - it looks cool in that blue water!

I have had both. I love the 5711R. I miss the 5712 but I had a G. I will have a 5712a someday.

its interesting how the poll results mirror demand/secondary pricing/scarcity. The 5711 has always been hard to get, but as soon as the 5712 is then all of a sudden its also more popular because its a hot watch.

Which came first? I tend to be a cynic and think it became scarce and then demand rose because of that and not the other way around.

Strictly from a WR perspective, I am shocked at how close this poll is.

It leads me to believe that potential owners may not intend to use this watch to its fullest potential?

Who cares about WR , these watches you rub them the wrong way and you damage them.
That’s why you need Rolex , and a Nauti or Aqua for casual/sexy wear

5712 is the best nautilus in my opinion, I will choose it over 5711 any day and it's not even close.

I would agree as even on this forum where we always preach buy the watch not the hype or price, we see so many members get tempted, so I imagine the pull is just too great, esp for those who were interested but wavering. I still don't think people who don't like the watch are buying it however.

5712, I'm not a fan of the 11 (yes, I know, I'm the only one in the world...)

It is a special feeling to scuff the bezel on a nautilus case

5712 for me too. But only because I have the 3700. Without the 3700 in my box I think I'd prefer the 5711 over the 12 because of the minimalistic dial. Less is more and that is why I'm totally in love with the 3700...

12 for me because having both I like it much more than the 11, but if we were talking 5711 with blue of the 5711P, then I would choose 11...

Nautilus 5711 vs 5712 which one?

I love both and its hard to pick. However, I gravitate towards the more pure choice and that is the 5711 with the blue dial. That is the one for me. A few years ago, I was in the market for a new Patek. My one and only Patek. I finalized two models: a 5146 G and a 5712. Both were offered to me by my AD and i was offered a substantial discount on both if you can believe that! In the end, i went with the 5146 which i liked more. However, from a financial standpoint, the 5712 was the better investment. The value of my 5146 has tanked and there are plenty for sale. I feel a little let down by Patek but such is life.

No doubt 5711, if I were to get a Nautilus with complication, it would be the 5740.

To be fair, I just received the 12 last week. I will update again on both after 1 year

I prefer the simple movement in a sports watch which does not need a winding box to avoid frequent push correction setting. The 11 is pressure proof to 120mm while the 12 is half that due to the correctors.
