Icon10 Let's do this!!

Just signed up for my first Ultra marathon 55km trail run (2000m of elevation)

Can't wait to endure joy, happiness, pain, regret, more pain, why am I doing this, maybe some more joy at the end

I'll pick you up at the airport if you ever want to really torture yourself - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badwater_Ultramarathon

Agree with bobernet. Only way I'm going that is on 2 or more likely 4 wheels

Good luck and enjoy!

Is the first stop within 100m of the starting line? Are there refills?

Cheers guys, pretty excited!
If I'm offline after March 24th I probably died

The fun thing is, I will be rewarded 3 qualification points for the prestigious Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc upon completion.

Thanks.
If I decide I like this ultra distance running, I mean marathons are fun & doable.. then I have a few on my list. Bigfoot 200 is one of them. Quite possibly the most insane of them all.

A little less extreme: I have a 'fun run' coming up in the beginning of March, a half marathon on the Grand Prix circuit of Spa Francorchamps. Three laps on this magnificent track with my two best friends.

Such a beautiful track! That will be fun run. Remember, try not to lift in eau rouge!

Good one Bas. You've been doing some significant training already, so you should have confidence from your training already in your legs. Get in as much hill training in as you can. Do your longest distance training runs 4 and 3 weeks before. 2 weeks before do steep up and down hill training runs. Then start your taper. And enjoy the ride.
