* USA - Anyone shopped at High Point, North Carolina, for Furniture? Experience? *
I'm toying with driving to NC to High Point and investigate furniture choices, since they have about 50 stores all grouped together there - trip maybe beginning spring. Not sure if I'm stuck on brands. Living room, bedroom, guest room, etc.
Anyone on forum gone there? Best or not so good, recent experiences? Tips? Thank you for your input. DM

Finally got a result in search function of an older thread on this subject.
Here is a 2016 thread for those interested: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ight=furniture Sorry to duplicate... DM

Why drive that far, don't you have a IKEA nearby?

Yep. I live in Pinehurst, NC. Drove there with a truck, bought a house full of stuff (we had returned from overseas and sold everything to the new home buyer). Great deals. lots to choose from. Very satisfied.

Hey Mon, thanks for your question.
Not sure about IKEA here. I could go for a look-see before I make a decision. I do lean towards traditional style. Would like different furniture options, hopefully find USA made furniture in one spot, and then maybe have an opportunity to attend an impromtu NC GTG or SC GTG at same time... How is your winter-wonderland river looking outside your kitchen? That was a lovely landscape photo you posted. DM

American made furniture is becoming hard to find. Between the costs of domestic hardwoods and American labor pricing, good American made furniture is pricing itself out of a lot of markets. Don’t pass it up if you find it. |

Let me make a few calls. This is pretty close to me and Hickory used to be THE place for deals on furniture. I’ll text you once I have some good feedback and a few places to recommend.

Deals would be 'good', since I have so much outlay on restoration. DM

It's been many years since my wife and I went furniture shopping in High Point so it may be different now. Furniture Land South is a great furniture store to visit. It's huge and they carry many different manufacturers. We shopped and bought a few rooms of furniture but more importantly made a sales contact that we ordered from over many years. He's retired now. The discounts were significant. Definitely worth making the trip.

I did make that trip once and learned that the wide array of offerings was daunting.
That was before the internet. Maybe the shopping choices can be narrowed on the manufacturer’s websites? Then visit the ones who have what you want. Have a nice trip! Sent from my iPhoneX using Tapatalk
