Weekender bag

What's your go-to?

Love Ted Baker - this little guy fits just enough for the short weekend getaways. My favorite messenger bag is from them as well; will have to dig up a picture of that one.

I don't own this yet, but my choice would be waxed canvas Filson.

Defy Rover. But it can actually carry a week’s worth. I’ve been using it for 3-5 days a week, weekly since February. They just released a smaller weekend bag this Friday. I have a lot of their stuff but I could not bring myself to buy their new bag because I don’t see ever using anything other than the Rover.

My favorite messenger is the Defy Recon. I have that in Horween Chocolate Leather. That’s my daily bag now that I’m suit and tie.

Sorry no pictures of either right now. We’re having an open house tomorrow and I’m not allowed to touch anything. Sooner or later I’m sure my phone will get put away.

Owning an NA Miata we need to pack light. I love the Hook and Albert Weekender I got a few years ago. Well made and holds a bunch.

I have heard there is a company called... T... T... T something or other, that makes excellent bags. For example:

This Luca, is the top of the line for Tumi weekender-bag lineup. I don’t have one yet, but as soon as people start flying again and need pilots to fly them around I hope to pick one up.

https://www.tumi.com/p/luca-duffel-01253688140/

Now, this is the one I DO have, it is slightly more reasonably priced (but still fairly expensive), but I absolutely LOVE it!!!! Its the Aldan model in the Arrive line up.

https://www.tumi.com/p/aldan-duffel-01173421041/

Finally, for a much less-expensive, but still exceptionally tough and functional bag, another one I own is the Alpha 3 travel satchel. Alpha 3 is the workhorse of the Tumi line up, extremely tough and functional, although it doesn’t have the higher-class appearance of the Arrive models for example, it still is a nice-looking bag and will take years of abuse and still serve you well.

https://www.tumi.com/p/double-expans...l-01173441041/

If you choose one of these, welcome to the Tumi family and I will see you at the next TA meeting

In order : Pricing is (aprox) $2,000, $1,000 and $500

The thought of a weekend/short trip sounds so good. Have our first one coming up for Labor Day Weekend. My go to is LV Keepall and Christopher backpack as a diaper/snack bag

I have the small, medium, and large bags in green and let me tell you, these things are awesome! Rugged, water resistant, and can fit a house. Recommend for sure, if you are looking for canvas.

I have the older version of the cheap tumi Paul posted and it’s served me very well for a good 5-6 years now. Super durable and attracts no attention which I like going in and out of hotels and such with valuables.

I’ve almost bought an LV several times but never pulled the trigger.

Good to know, yeah I saw this particular bag in a local fly fishing shop and I was impressed. The styling is to my taste too. I have no real need for it right now, and quite frankly I have forgotten about it until seeing this thread, but I should think about picking one up soon. Maybe some weekend trips are in order to finally get out of the house.

I've been looking and comparing a number of different kinds (mostly leather) but their 100 year guarantee has me always coming back to something from Saddleback. Looks are one thing but nothing beats a company that actually stands behind their product. I've yet to come across anything negative about this company and their products.

The only negative (and could be a positive) is that their bags are quite heavy. I considered one as a laptop satchel but went a different (lighter) direction. I suppose a weekend bag would be carried less than a daily computer satchel. They look very nice though.

Osprey Farpoint.

Lost interest in fine luggage after seeing it ruined in overhead bins.

I have this in navy blue. The small size is perfect for a weekend bag. I have the medium too which I use for a carry-on. Filson makes a great bag.

I'm guessing like most of you here, this is my go to weekend travel gear.

I have 3 matching ones although the tape is different on each.

Only issue I have with filson is their zipper teeth are gnarly, can scratch delicate things up if you aren't careful. But I guess that's what makes them durable.
