1680 rough bezel fix...
My newly aquired 1680's bezel turns but is a little rough and sticks in a few spots. I removed it and gave it, the case and retailing ring a light cleaning.
I also used some 2000 grit extra fine sandpaper to polish the ring and knock off/down any burs or corrosion that might be causing the issues. After all this though it's really not much better. Any of you have advice as to make a bezel run smoother? What are the areas that actually contact? Should I buy a replacement retaining ring or is this not likely to solve the problem? Thanks in advance. |

Nevermind, I found the offending burr on the underside of the bezel and knocked it down with some patient work and the 2000 git paper. There were a few "pot holes" in the retaining ring that also needed some attention but all buttery smooth now.
