Blue reflection in cyclops

Just wondering if all Sub C’s have a blue reflection in the cyclops? It is the same whether in the sun or not with mine. I actually think it is a cool feature, but wasn’t sure how common it is. See attached pic

Yes, that's the AR coating.

Okay. Thx. I don’t see it all with the SD43 for some reason.

Just on / under the cyclops. Not the entire crystal.

are you sure it is not a reflection? I also do not see it at any angle on my SD43.

AR coating is applied to all Cyclops since 2010 ish. That includes some 5 digit references such as the last of the 16610’s.

I assume it is down to the AR coating of the cyclops (under it I believe). I have a Carrera with the inside of the sapphire fully AR coated. If changes the appearance of the dial from flat black to iridescent electric blue, and everything between, depending on the angle and intensity of the incident light. I think it's a cool feature. My cyclopes sometimes appear to behave a bit like this.

Bringing this back so as to not start a new thread...

Are there known variances between production runs and affected AR under the cyclops? I have a 2019 GMT Pepsi with blue AR, and a 2019 GMT BLNR without it. A 2020 GMT CHNR with the blue, and a 2018 LVc without it.

For those who may say that it’s the lighting in the room, camera angle, etc - the difference is VERY apparent when you’re holding them side by side.

I personally have never understood the allure of the blue AR thing. I understand Rolex only uses it for the date magnifiers but quite a few other brands apply it to the entire crystal. If I own a watch with a black dial I want the dial to be, well, black. If I wanted a blue dial watch that's what I would buy. JMO

I have it on my 2020 LVc. When I got the watch I immediately noticed it too. I don’t have it on my 2019 blnr and don’t think I have it on my 2019 bluesy

I’ve had two Pepsi GMT IIs. One had it (2022 card), the other did not (2020 card). My brother’s Batman does not have it (2023 card). I agree that it is easy to notice, not as much as IWC AR coating but definitely noticeable.

Blue reflection in cyclops SD43

Hi I just purchased a new SD43 from Tourneau. It has some blue on the cyclops. And my manager has the same watch last year it doesn’t show any blue reflection
.
