Mismatched lume on a Daytona!? Anyone seen this.

Hi everyone. I was talking to someone who has a 116523 and they noticed the lume didn't match between the hands and the dial.

Some people suggested Rolex may have done this intentionally as they do on some other models but I'm not so sure and I know there are people here who would definitely know.

Is it possible that Rolex would have intentionally put superluminova on a dial and chromalight hands on the same watch?

Thank you.

never seen that before. what serial is this? I guess it's possible if your watch was put together during the transition phase from green to blue.

That was my thought. Every time I've seen this, it' was because hands or dial got swapped and the lume wasn't checked.

I just wanted to check and be sure this isn't something Rolex did intentionally because some people stated that Rolex does mismatch lume on Daytona models. I was curious because I've never seen it on a Daytona.

It's from... I believe (was told) 07 or 08.

I sent the owner of the watch a link to the thread so maybe they can chime in with details.

This model came with thin hands which were later on replaced with fat hands post 2010. The watch in question has no Rolex engravings which mean it was made prior to 2005.

Possibly but Rolex themselves don't make any of the hands they are all made by a third party.
