Icon7 5327 winder box

Hi , just purchased a new 5327 from non-authorized dealer. I was dis appointed that the winder box is not a beautiful wooden one but a kind of cheesy leather round puny one. Anyone know why or had any experience w this ? Thanks, james

The original winder box from a 5140 was a large wooden box. Not sure if they changed the winder box for a 5327.

Did the seller say that an original Patek winder box was included? Possible after-market winder?

Did the seller include a second caseback?

Collectors value 2nd caseback anywhere from $5k-$10k depending on the rarity of the watch. So it would be nice to have it.

I have heard Patek changed vendors for their boxes. Perhaps their winder boxes are drastically different now.

My 5327 came with the nice wooden winder box. Maybe this is aftermarket?

I don't think they are being straight with you. 5327 should come with the hardwood winder box. I believe the round leather (travel winder) is an additional new accessory that is being given with the hardwood box on new purchases. I just bought a 5320G from an AD and received both. Given that the 5327 predates the release of the 5320G, I think you should absolutely have received the hardwood winder at the very least.

What is the round leather travel winder that you received? Could you share a pic?

Here are some pics. I’m not sure if this was supposed to come with the watch (in addition to the hard case) or whether it was a gift from my AD (they also gave me some other items including the travel roll). But I do know that the portable winder was not in place of the large hardwood winding case, which also was included.

This is the lastest winder from Patek and is given to all new releases after this past summer. It is suppose to have a bluetooth pairing function or something...

That looks similar in size to the previous leather winding box from Scala de tempo which PP used for many years. This new box seems very nice and a great size. Easy to put in a secure place out of view. The wooden boxes are too big.

Did the dealer disclose the watch was not complete in that the solid back was missing. On a new product, the back and the setting stylus should still be in the sealed plastic as there is no reason to open that part of the sealed strip. There is a slot in some older non winding boxes in the watch holder piece for the back and your box may have a slot somewhere for the back. The newer wooden winding boxes have a depression circle for the back. It makes no sense to unseal the back, too easy to scratch or lose.

Yep well actually the winder is better than I thought and acording to AD is now standard for many of the PC ‘s . Really might make more sense than big box and be used traveling when taking several watches. As to the case back it , so far is still MIA :-( Thanks

I received one with my 5320 and either I set it up wrong or it doesn’t work particularly well. I noticed the watch wasn’t keeping time after a few days and moved it to my Wolf winder instead

I personally don’t like the big box. Mine just sits in a cupboard and I use a travel case to store my watch.

According to this Advertisement on chrono 24, it should come with the wooden larger winder box

This new watch winder usually comes with the new perpetual calendar 5740/1G along with the wooden box, but can you purchase this winder from the dealer?

That’s a nice compact watch winder from Patek, compared to the huge wooden box that came with the other PCs in the past. I continue to use Wolf for winding my watches.

Good grief...what happening at Patek

Bluetooth, configures to the movement the TPD, is a useful size, 18 month battery life....already in the safe and not in the garage along with all the other paraphernalia. Great website and now even the add ons seem to be well thought through...

Beautiful but can you purchase it separately from the dealer?
