I don't know how you Londoners do it. It's downright depressing to have so many watch shops yet so few actual watches...

Have you managed to get yourself on a list anywhere ?

I spoke to my AD in the vein hope a coke GMT came out at Basel but following that disappointment when I went back he just said I put you on the SD43 list instead. He is a top guy and I wouldn't go to anyone else tbh, as he always looks after me.

Well that's what I was told and it WOS on regent street on Sunday. I'd happily buy the one on display but they would sell it!

I'm on the market for a BLNR. They're easy to find in the US, but I was hoping to get one at U.K. pricing. Sadly, it doesn't look like that will happen on this visit.

After my whirlwind weekend tour, I did learn one thing: those "lists" are largely BS. Most of the ADs I spoke to acknowledged that big buyers get to the front of the line and that being in the store "at the right time" matters more than where you are on the list and when you signed up.

If you've got a good relationship with your AD, that's going to be your best bet. Stop in often. Remind him how much you want the watch. And make it known that you've got cash ready. He'll call you.

Good luck!

You don't want that one anyway. I was told all the Basel preview models in WOS this week are without a movement!

No one from England shops in London, it's just for you visiting folks... or it was till you cleaned us out.

I got one on a visit from Aus to the UK last week, but I count myself lucky. the VAT refund helps too (net price about USD $7,500).

If it helps I had a SD43 but just sold it yesterday. Planned to keep and it is a nice watch but all the hype driving the prices up tempted me too much.

It's a very nice watch but it isn't a "wait 10 years" watch - at all. Just a perfectly sized Sub with a nice bit of red writing for people with chunky wrists :)

They should have called it the SubDweller.

Your AD won't be impressed that you've flipped it already

He's absolutely livid and I feel bad as I really was planning to keep it but someone offered me nearly £4.5k over what I paid for it and I couldn't resist. Not sure how many people could. Effectively swapping it for a 5 digit SD and a brand new DateJust 28 for my wife. Both now planning purchases as a result of the sale. He still isn't happy though.

I'm not surprised tbh. It's things like that that make ADs funny about removing stickers, and keeping warranty cards etc.

Still, £4.5k is amazing but still It does no favours for the market.

Such a shame that these days it all comes down to a couple couple of things.

1. What discount can I expect?

2. Hey I've got a watch eventually that everyone wants thanks to my relationship with MY AD......
Hold on, how much can I make? Oh go on then.......

Yep, hard to turn down a large chunk of cash, but surely cannot expect
anything else in the future from this AD?

And we wonder why a few AD's react the way they do.

Sure it's business.

Good luck.

What is the point in POA? Do they offer a different price depending on who you are? I don't get it.

They were offering £11k to buy in and taking offers north of £14,500 and sold one for £15k. Prices all over the place as Blowers are/were selling one for £12,950. Chronext want £15,950

Indeed and I can't blame him I think it is bang out of order as he probably only sold it to you as you said you wouldn't flip it. No more lists for you!!

Still 114060 hunting if anyone sees one near the midlands. Willing to travel a hour or so if needed. Goldsmiths Leeds have taken a deposit on the one they had already.

Anyone know which places do 0% as id rather use someone else's money than my own if possible?

You'll struggle to get 0% on SS Sports now from ADs.
