(photos) Should I buy a Vacheron Overseas 49150 Rose Gold on Strap?

Hello to all,

I have loved the VC brand for a while but never considered purchasing one over an AP/Rolex until now. I am starting to learn more about the brand now. I guess it's the history, exclusivity and scarcity of the brand that is attracting me to it, not to mention the looks. A watch lover's watch. They are beautifully crafted and timeless in my opinion.

I have an opportunity to purchase a mint condition VC Overseas 49150 rose gold on strap at about 35% off retail. complete set. This specific model is discontinued but prices never skyrocketed over retail like many of the Patek, AP, and rolex models.

Any opinions on this piece and it's ability to hold value over time? Do you think this would be a good investment?

Or should I maybe go with an AP 15500 non-chrono on strap instead? Although it may be double the price...

That particular reference is definitely 'one of not many'. Get the one you'll enjoy more, that'll make it priceless.

I dont think this will be a great investment piece, but will probably hold its value decently, if you manage to find a buyer (which probably will take time). Buy it if you love the watch, not because its a bargain.
