LONDON Winter GTG & Salon QP Saturday 9th November

Chaps!

Sorry I've not been posting as much of late but work and family commitments have simply prevented me doing so....

But nevertheless it's coming up to Salon QP again and as is now our tradition I hoped we could tie it in with our Winter GTG before everyone gets booked up for Christmas!

I'm thinking anyone that fancies a beverage beforehand could meet at The Dickens (or the hotel bar as below?) about mid-day or anyone preferring to meet at Salon QP perhaps we could say 2.00/2.30?

The Tower hotel is fully booked that evening though so I've suggested an alternative below.....

Once we've got some numbers I'll book us a table at The Living Room, unless of course anyone fancies a change...?
Or we could just eat upstairs at The Dickens or next door at The Mala??

I look forward to hearing your thoughts gents, and even more I look forward to catching up with you all.....

Geert, its always great to have a Belgian in the team who has an english sense of humour!!!

If you cant make it, I think a Basel 2014 could be on the card in the spring.

Thanks Paul. I've never been to Basel for the wristwatchexhibition, would love to do that. Only problem is getting time off at work, it's quite dificult in Spring with lots of work
But I will try to make it to London again first... and I think the British has a Belgian sense of humor !!!

salon qp, is it worth going, isn't it all fashion watches?

may be better to stay in the pub and sink ales.. and look at real watches

any way will confirm if i'm coming or not, that weekend is free as far as i can see...

sounds good Puffy.
I am not sure yet, but hope to join in. I rather like the relaxed attitude at the GTGs.

So, less than two weeks to go and I reckon there's definitely me, Paul, Cal......

I know Big Nath' can't make it but I've got several 'maybes' including...

Dino??
Chris??
Gabriel??
Steve??
Geert??
Wes??
Anders??

Is anybody else confirmed yet??

I've had a 99%'er from one of our American friends but I've not made any bookings or paid any deposits/reserved any areas 'cos if there's only three or four of us I don't suppose there's any need really is there??

I'm thinking just play it by ear on the day....
Back to The Dickens after QP and we can eat at there or The Mala next door or take a leisurely stroll over to The Living Room if and when we fancy it....??

If anyone would rather we had a more definite plan please let me know and I'll organise something but with five or six of us at most I don't think we'll find it too hard finding a table somewhere....

Dan

lets go with the flow on the day, if we have a smaller group we can chop and change to suit all.

Geert would be great to catch up but I understand its a long way to come if timings/logistics could prevent you making it this year. I am still working on the big fella upstairs with regard to having Easter cancelled in 2014. But he doesn't seem to want to respond to my emails, I am guessing he has a lot on his plate at the moment. I may need some sort of divine intervention on this one to help me out.

Puffy, Salon QP is worth a visit, its great to see so many unique and not so unique pieces in one place. Its quite good for eye candy too Some watches are excessive in cost but there is a lot to see and learn. The history of watches area which tends to be on the top floor is always worth a view to see all those iconic watches in the flesh/metal/gold. Or alternatively we can meet up in the pub afterwards. Dan and I have reasonable form in catching up on the beers

Not long to go now gents

Chaps...... I've made some space in the old diary and will be attending the QP..... what sort of time were you thinking of as I'll meet you there.

But, unfortunately, I can only make it for a few drinks locally afterwards (so ideally somewhere near to the QP exhibition) since I'm heading down to the South Coast that evening and need to be heading off by late afternoon.......

Edit: Just checked the website and it's open from 12-6pm on Saturday so I'll be there from the start. Dan/Paul....Just text me when you arrive (if later) and I'll pop back to the entrance to meet you.
