1940's - Ser No 99134

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...p/DSCF4075.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...p/DSCF4067.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...p/DSCF4077.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...p/DSCF4079.jpg This is a watch that I purchased in late 1981 or early 1982 from a friend. The Manufactures Case/Model Number is #1807 and based on the serial no it is about a 1940 watch. I assume it isd possible that a digit is worn off the case that I can not read. As you can see (I hope I have uploaded pix) it has a diamond face and diamond bezel with 44 round cut stones being approx .02pts each. I think I may sell this watch and purchase a new SS Date/Just. What would be you thought as to the value of the watch based on what you can see. I do not know if the face and bezel are after market or original Rolex. I had it appraised back in 1982 to be able to clear customs as I had problems coming back from CanCun once so I always traveled with the appraisal. ANY THOUGHTS.............. |

I would definitely take it to have it authenticated before you sell it.
I see some real issues with that watch. |

With all due respect. From the pics I don't believe it is a Rolex.

Dial is refinished, bezel is not original, bracelet is stretched. Still a rolex. At this point it's a case, and movement.

"Serious issues" as Steven rightly remarked ...
Nothing looks right. Also the "9" inside the watch is very strange - apart from all things you fellas pointed out. Sorry Oysterp, but doesn't look like a Rolex
